You are fearfully and wonderfully made.

Game:
Split into groups of 3-4. Come up with an invention that will help mankind.
Here are how you score points for your team.
One point for coming up with something that hasn’t been invented yet.
One point for the most Complex invention.
One point if it seems like your invention would work.
Transition:
There are many things that are complex and incomprehensible to the average person.
Like… take our phones for instance.
We all have a basic understanding of how they work.
However, if we opened it up, we wouldn’t have a clue how the internal parts work together.
It’s so complex how it all fits and connects together.
But what about us?
David wrote in the Psalms.
Psalm 139:14 “14 I will praise you because I have been remarkably and wondrously made. Your works are wondrous, and I know this very well.”
How are we fearfully and wonderfully made?
Bones:
stronger than steel and concrete (4 times stronger than concrete)
different sizes.
206 in the human body.
They provide the structure to your body while also protecting key parts of you like your heart and lungs and your brain.
What are the chances we have the structure of our bones that we do just by random chance?
THink back to yesterday… Like a spaghetti marshmallow
Bones also heal! That’s wild. Concrete and steel can’t heal itself, but our bones do!
A broken bone can be put in a cast and healed in a month or two.
2. Nose
How is your nose fearfully and wonderfully made?
hairs in your nose filter our dirt and germs to catch them before they go in your body.
smells protect you from danger (smoke in a house) imagine if you couldn’t smell smoke?
smell mold, rot.
the part of your brain that processes smells also stores memories. That’s why when you smell certain smells it can also remind you of places or memories.
3. Hands
fingernails protect the ends of your fingers from getting injured
fingerprints on your hands not only are unique to you, but on everybody, they help you grip things.
Thumbs allow you to lift heavy objects, but also do fine intricate work like threading a needle.
To lift a bite of food from your plate to your mouth you use over 30 joints and 50 muscles in your hands and arms.
4. Eyes.
Proverbs 20:12 “12 The hearing ear and the seeing eye— the Lord made them both.”
If you have a phone, take it out.
open the camera and flip it to yourself.
Your phone probably has a couple thousand pictures on it or more, meanwhile, your eye took thousands of pictures today.
Your pupil in your eye gets larger or smaller relative to the amount of light your eye needs to allow in. In a dark room, your pupil gets larger to try to let more light in.
How many of you actively adjust your pupils? Nobody! Your body does it automatically.
You also have eye lids and eye lashes to keep dirt out of your eyes.
Tears flush dirt out of the eye or other debris out of the eye.
And that’s just the tip of the iceberg. When you consider the rods and cones in your eye and how those work with the brain, you will be blown away
After considering all these parts about us tonight I want to ask you?
Are your inventions or are your phones more complex than you are?
Before you answer, consider what we didn’t talk about?
DNA, Veins, Arteries, your nervous system, your brain.
Guys.. WE ARE COMPLEX!
WE ARE COMPLEX! That is not an accident!
We scream of a creator!
You are fearfully and wonderfully made.
Don’t ever think that you are an accident.
You are fearfully and wonderfully made uniquely by God!
Don’t sell yourself short!
Don’t ever think you aren’t valuable.
We are hand made.
We are crafted.
Also, the God who made you and made you with such fine detail.
He’s worth listening too…
What God has to say is of greater value than what the world is trying to tell us.
youtube, tiktok, Instagram… All have people who think they know the truth.
But guys, 99% of the stuff we consume on these platforms is just noise.
It’s nothing.
Those things didn’t make you, but the more we listen to the noise, the more the noise comes out of us.
God has something to tell you tonight that is far better and it starts by simply understanding.
Man, we are complex! We are wonderfully, complicatedly made.
Don’t buy into a lie that you are anything less.
The God who made you with such detail, loves you with a love that is even greater!
Let’s lean into His love this week.
