“ELIJAH”

1 Kings 17-19

• Elijah was a Tishbite. 1 Kings 17:1; 2 Kings 1:8

• Elijah served in the northern kingdom of Israel, during the reign of King Ahab. 1 Kings 16:29-33

• Elijah was involved with many miracles. 1 Kings 17:2-6; 1 Kings 17:7-23; 1 Kings 18:1-40; 2 Kings 1:8-14

• Elijah mentored his successor, Elisha. 1 Kings 19:19-21

• Elijah was taken to heaven alive, in a chariot of fire. 2 Kings 2:11

• John the Baptist came in the power and spirit of Elijah. Luke 1:13-17

• Elijah appeared with Jesus and Moses on the “Mount of Transfiguration.” Matthew 17:1-13

• Elijah was a man just like us. James 5:17
