I. Patience Produces Praise vs. 1-5

A. David waited patiently for the Lord to act. David knew that Yahweh, had heard his prayer, but the outcome was going to take awhile. We are an impatient people, who often treat God like a divine butler. God is NOT YOUR SERVANT!!! Wait for the Lord to work on your behalf, and be patient, He is not on your time table.
B. The Lord hasn’t forgotten about you. When you are patiently waiting you are yielded to the Holy Spirit and you will be lifted up.
C. Once you build your whole house on the rock you will have a new song to sing! You will sing about His blessings to you, and His love for you. (Music works wonders ex.) Matt. 7:24-27
Matthew 7:24–27 NASB95
“Therefore everyone who hears these words of Mine and acts on them, may be compared to a wise man who built his house on the rock. “And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and slammed against that house; and yet it did not fall, for it had been founded on the rock. “Everyone who hears these words of Mine and does not act on them, will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand. “The rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and slammed against that house; and it fell—and great was its fall.”

II. Productivity Produces Pride vs. 6-12

A. Yahweh didn’t want offerings, he wanted willing hearts. Ps. 51:16-17
Psalm 51:16–17 NASB95
For You do not delight in sacrifice, otherwise I would give it; You are not pleased with burnt offering. The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit; A broken and a contrite heart, O God, You will not despise.
B. When our productivity is out of a willing and loving heart it produces blessings. When its done out of a gage of spirituality or busyness in order to not deal with things, then it produces pride.
C. You will praise God, and use the Word of God to bless people, not as a weapon to hurt people, or take a verse out of context to justify your sinful actions your sinful actions, while simultaneously condemning someone else’s for theirs.
D. You will be compassionate to others, while hating your own sin. Like Paul, you will see yourself, as loved, redeemed, while still the chief of sinners.

III. Perservance Produces Perspective vs. 13-17

A. While you wait you will develop a more eternal perspective, rather than the selfish perspective that you started out with.
B. David prays that the wicked be dishonored, and appalled. Meaning they wouldn’t be successful, and appalled/repentant of their actions.
C. We should pray for others to be blessed, even though we are in the valley.
D. When we do this, we are praying, praising, from a better perspective.
