Introduction to Hebrews

I. God revealed Himself before Christ. (vs 1)

The Doctrine of God

1. Many times long ago

Gen 3:9; Gen 4:9; Gen 6:8-13; Gen 12:1; Ex 3; Matthew 3:17

2. In many ways

Audible, Angels, Signs and symbols

3. By the prophets

Isaiah 38:4; Daniel 2:19; 2 Timothy 3:16

II. God revealed Himself through Christ. (2-3)

The Doctrine of Christology

1. A specific time

Galatians 4:4; Mark 1:15

2. A specific person

Mark 1:1; Luke 1:31-35

a. “whom he appointed heir of all things…”

b. “...through whom also he created the world.”

c. “He is the radiance of the glory of God and the exact imprint of his nature...”

d. “...and he upholds the universe by the word of his power.”

3. A specific revelation

a. “After making purification of sins...”
