In this sermon we consider the words of Jesus to the church in Smyrna, & what it can teach us about facing trials in this world as Christians. The church in Smyrna was the object of an abundance of slander & persecution from those around them. Yet despite the world's slander, Smyrna is one of two churches that Jesus does not rebuke, but only commends. Christ's encouraging words to this suffering church teach us that while there may be crosses to bear in this world, His promise of a crown remains
