See if you can figure out where the passage is, I'm going to read to passages, it's alright.

And you might be struck by how similar they are.

And then I know and where they come from, you might be struck and how different of circumstances they come from.

It's Hannah's Prayer from 1st Samuel. in the second prayer, of course, is the prayer of Mary following the announcement of her going to be the The chosen one through whom the the Christ himself would be born as a virgin.

Amazing.

Remarkable.

You would almost think that Mary study the Old Testament.

You would almost think that she had a familiarity with Biblical teaching through Old Testament.

Scripture, you would almost think that she was familiar with the prayer of Hannah as she cried out to the Lord.

It almost think, wouldn't you?

I want to do something this morning.

I want to clarify it for your note-taking sakes.

Some things to pay attention to as your taking notes.

First off, let's talk a little bit about what I'm doing here at the pulpit and when I've been doing to prepare you for your note, taking First photo off, I have established a slide, you'll see it.

It's going to be a orange or red crimson color on my computer screen.

When we're going to announce a paragraph for a major floor discussion in the text or subject was removing from one major point to another major point.

It's letting you know that we are setting up a teaching paragraph for you, or you can call it a sub paragraph.

Now, knowing that should give you exceptional ability to bunch and group, and indent before Halloween material in your note.

Taking I'm not going to say necessarily paragraph a paragraph, be at cetera.

Sometimes I do.

When I have an explicit outline of categorical know, it's all break it down like that for you typically I don't.

So when you see this orange light on the screen, that's a major point of order.

And you can start taking notes underneath that.

Now re fine but everyone has a different way of taking notes.

I take notes in a text that up on my phone and I use the keyboard and I punch out notes with paragraphs indentations, sub in the Temptations and then I wish principles Etc.

And I do the same thing.

When I'm writing on paper just far easier for me to do it when I do it on my keyboard, cuz I type fast and I can always understand what I've typed.

After-the-fact rest, I can't always read my handwriting.

I have inherited my mother's handwriting, which she inherited from her mother.

And I know you could just say that we all have quasi illegible handwriting to most people know I have learned note-taking style of writing and technique.

But if I go a long, long hand, or if I just start scratching out things without going into that, no taking mindset.

You would be hard-pressed to follow it.

I know some of you have found your own men.

Some of you are a long hander.

Some of you are a scratchers and some of you already have the notebooks out and you're typing as you go.

Now I learned to take notes right here in this room by watching my father, as a child.

And he took note and you wrote points and sub-points, and he recorded versus being mentioned and he put his own conclusion in observations in his notes in parentheses, and sometimes he had an entire paragraph inside of a prince, he came up with and you have to wonder what he actually listening to the teacher was going on, or was he making his own teach?

That's the case with all of that sometimes people are so wrapped in their own rabbit trails that they missed the points, as they come down, who I quite what happened where to go, I was thinking about this and he said, You want a rear, I'm rewind the whole thing and you have that opportunity because we're recording all the sessions, you can go back to listen to it again.

Update your notes, make sure you understood what you think, you didn't or vice versa.

And then she would work out the outline for us and teach us how to outline and how to take the notes.

And I was always amazed at how much more information she got from the tape then I did.

So that's a good thing.

I figured there were just teacher note out there somewhere that she was using but probably not.

She's probably doing all the work yourself.

And in there, I learned the traditional Roman numeral outlining method, but you can see it as an option in your word processor.

So you start with the Roman numeral one, and then a capital A and then a 1, mm, a small MMA one inside of a parentheses and then you just keep on going down and down and then nothing further and further, but you're able to match your capital h, e r capital V East York Capital Cities and see the running line of organization that's happening.

From both my dad and from Gene, I picked up short and no taking Which is far easier to keep up with.

And then writing things out longhand.

Know some of us have that addiction.

If there's an option we just write it out long.

And then we fight, we can't keep up with what's being said.

So I do recommend that you use shorthand.

So for example, you can see on the screen on the wall, I have G / a chest for God, the Holy Spirit, you see, a couple of slashes and there you have it.

You don't have to write for the next 15 second, 40 seconds for some of you, okay?

And then we had a God, the Father should be s u d.

I a s u d for a sin unto death there, certain an acronym that you can pull together or create on the floor, that you'll be able to figure out when referring referencing a big word, especially one that's being taught or mentioned over and over and over again.

And they teaching, I substitute the capital letter for the word.

So, I'm taking a talking, a lot about the doctrine of the hypostatic Union.

I might abbreviated as huhuhuhu in that context.

If it's been a while, I'm going to ride it out but then I'm going to be talking about it.

I shortened it to make a note taking easier when examining the text of the passage in the original language or getting into some technical background presenting, the original language words to you, discussing syntax exegeting the grammar.
