Not only did Pilate fail to heed the warnings God gave him to believe in Christ, but so also did the folks of Jesus' hometown. These were probably good Jews, and decent law-abiding folk. But they failed to place their faith in Jesus Christ. This same failure to heed the Word of God is seen in Joseph's brothers. They failed to believe God's revelations through Joseph where the Egyptians, who had grown up in darkness, believed them. This is a sobering warning that there is no nepotism in salvation
