Main subject is faith. Literary structure confirms it. Even a reference to Ch6.

Then talk about Rahab the Prostitute and the offensiveness of the word prostitute. Then confirm that it’s meant to be shocking here.

Sending in the spies. Reminescent of Moses sending 12 spies (a group of israelite chieftains, one from each of the 12 tribes) to scout the land of Canaan. 2 of the spies (joshua and caleb) did not go along with the 10 who did not think it was possible.
-But the men who had gone up with him said, "We can't attack those people; they are stronger than we are." And they spread a bad report about the land they had explored. They said, "The land we explored devours those living in it. All the people we saw there were of great size. We saw the Nephilim there (the descendants of Anak come from the Nephilim). We seemed like grasshoppers in our own eyes, and we looked the same to them."
— Numbers, 13:31-33
You know, it’s hard when people think you’re going backwards and setting people behind by decades, but its ok. Im ok with looking like that if thats what GOd’s word says. I can stand on his word and thats what matters.
Sometimes we get so conservative that we go passed what the Bibles says. You know you’ve gone off the rails when God starts to sound like a liberal in your head.
Rahab’s faith. we dont know where it came from. it was against all odds.
Sometimes kids whogrew up going to church, oneaccusation that makes them struggle or deconstruct is that they wouldnt be Christians if they grew up in a diff family or diff part of the world.
Then what about china? and all the 1st gen belorvers who became christisns in an athiest, communist state?s
