Book of Psalms

English Standard Version (Psalm 139)
For you formed my inward parts;you knitted me together in my mother’s womb.
A collection of poetry largely consisting of prayers and songs praising God, encouraging faith, or giving voice to human emotions like sorrow, fear, and joy. The book of Psalms falls into four different categories:
Liturgies (text for public worship within religious groups)
Meditative literature
Davidic prayers
Prophesies

“When men strive together and hit a pregnant woman, so that her children come out, but there is no harm, the one who hit her shall surely be fined, as the woman’s husband shall impose on him, and he shall pay as the judges determine. 23 But if there is harm, then you shall pay life for life, 24 eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot, 25 burn for burn, wound for wound, stripe for stripe.

The Lexham Bible Dictionary (Wisdom Literature)
A genre of ancient literature characterized by an emphasis on teaching its audience the things necessary for human morality (AKA how to be a good person). One important respect in which these books differ from other biblical material is that they focus on the life concerns of the individual. Wisdom literature is not concerned with the national situation as much as the personal. Meaning, these teachings should be applied and understood on what each person feels convicted on their own. They are not principles for establishments or governments to force onto people. Biblical Wisdom literature gives much advice for everyday choices in life. They are not rules that everyone needs to abide by but merely food for thought during your times of personal introspection.
Books in category of wisdom literature are Proverbs, Job, Ecclesiastes, Song of Solomon, and Psalm.
