1. O LORD, thou hast searched me, and known me. 2. Thou knowest my downsitting and mine uprising, Thou understandest my thought afar off.

To begin with brothers and sisters, Christian Friends, Well Wishers and Saints of God as we cruse and peruse through this powerful potent, picture, of passion we can’t help but see ourselves in this Psalms text .Because the Psalms 139 was written by King David, and The central theme is that God knows everything! God knows everything about anything that’s known that’s able to be knowable. Meaning God is Omniscient.

So God knew us before we knew ourselves. And my prayer this morning is “Lord you know little old me, and I just want to take out moment to say thank you Lord. Thank you Lord for making me who I am. Lord you made me and you knows all about me. Please Sir to Have Mercy” Amen Amen Amen.

Brothers and sisters according to the text God used multiple paths to get us to where we are now. Y’all remember the scripture that tells us That “The Steps of a Good Man are Ordered by the Lord”.

Let me prove it from the NCV Psalm 139:1-6 LORD, you have examined me and know all about me. 2. You know when I sit down and when I get up. You know my thoughts before I think them. 3. You know where I go and where I lie down. You know everything I do. 4. LORD, even before I say a word, you already know it. 5. You are all around me—in front and in back—and have put your hand on me. 6. Your knowledge is amazing to me; it is more than I can understand.

God knows everything about us. He knows when I wake up because He woke me up this morning. He knows what words I’m going to say before I say them Because He put His word in my mouth.Jesus said the Holy Spirit will give us the proper utterance at the proper time. He know what I think before I think it. He knows where I’m going because He ordered my steps He tells me to lie down and go to sleep because He send angels to watch over me all night long. God has His Hands on me.He’s ever present with me because God is Omnipresent. He’s everywhere at the same time. The Psalmist say this knowledge is too wonderful for my little human mind to comprehend and understand.

That’s why it’s not wise to act like you know everything. Because God’s ubiquitous Nature doesn’t share His Attribute of Omniscience. Nobody knows it all but God!!! 6. Such knowledge is too wonderful for me; It is high, I cannot attain unto it. In short brothers and sisters what God knows it blows my mind. And we can be extensively taught great things for eternity but we’ll never come close to knowing what God knows.

The next set of verses in Psalm 139 vividly tell us that we can’t hide from God either. We can’t hide what you’re doing from God because God already sees God already knows

Look at verse 7. Where can I go to get away from your Spirit? Where can I run from you? 8. If I go up to the heavens, you are there. If I lie down in the grave, you are there. 9. If I rise with the sun in the east and settle in the west beyond the sea, 10. even there you would guide me. With your right hand you would hold me 11. I could say, “The darkness will hide me.Let the light around me turn into night.” 12. But even the darkness is not dark to you.The night is as light as the day; darkness and light are the same to you.

God is with us everywhere we go and knows everything we do so, Listen to me, if you’re doing holy stuff, righteous stuff, good stuff, and living a sanctified holy life verses 7-12 don’t bother you at all. “In fact”, Just knowing that we have a God that Is Omnipresent Omniscient and Omnipotent that watches over our every move ought to make us glad because we’re never alone. And that means that that devil can’t do us no harm if God is always there watching over us.

Saints of God You don’t have to be perfect for God to watch over you, but you do have to be your best self.

Tell your neighbor : Be the best you that you can be.

I say that because the word of God says in that we are fearfully and wonderfully made and it’s a marvel to see. Look at Psalms 139:13-14 For thou hast possessed my reins: Thou hast covered me in my mother’s womb. 14 I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: Marvellous are thy works; And that my soul knoweth right well.

God made me who I am.

Tell your neighbor: I am fearfully and wonderfully made.

And what that means is that God didn’t make no junk. I am important! You are important! we are important to God! Somebody here needs to know that no matter what other folk say about you, you are important to God. God fearfully and wonderfully made us and it’s a marvel to see. Saints of God you’ve got to see yourself as a winner. because you were fearfully and wonderfully made by God.

Look at verse 13.  David says Lord You made my whole being;you formed me in my mother’s body. 14. I praise you because you made me in an amazing and wonderful way. What you have done is wonderful. I know this very well. 15. You saw my bones being formed as I took shape in my mother’s body. When I was put together there, 16. you saw my body as it was formed. All the days planned for me were written in your book before I was one day old.

This is a clear declaration that God made us and knows all about us. In addition to that, the text also indicates that God wrote our lives down in the Book of Life before we were ever born, and here’s how it went, God the Father in eternity past had a plan for our salvation, God the Son in time bought our salvation back on a hill called Calvary, and God The Holy Ghost sealed our fate for salvation on the day of Pentecost. The Psalmist says God knew me before I knew myself and David describes in great detail the formation of a baby in its mother’s womb and how precious that process is.

So my position is this I’m so glad that my mother was Pro Life. And I am a man that don’t nothing about having no baby, nor the circumstance surrounding that process, but I’m glad my mama was pro-life.

Then the text teaches us talks to us and takes us in a slightly different direction, because verse 17. says  “How precious also are thy thoughts unto me, O God!How great is the sum of them! 18. If I should count them, they are more in number than the sand: When I awake, I am still with thee.

The Psalmist David deals with the concept of the mind of God. Just like Jeremiah 29 Where the writer say I know the plans you have for my life. And David is saying I’ve seen a glimpse of The Lord’s mind concerning me and it’s wonderful it’s marvelous and it’s fascinating to me. You’d be overwhelmed it God show us all the blessings He has for us at one time.

David is saying I love God I love him 3x and I hate anybody that hate my God!!! And here’s what I say “If you don’t love God chances, are we’re not good friends”. Look at Psalms 139:19 God, I wish you would kill the wicked! Get away from me, you murderers! 20. They say evil things about you. Your enemies use your name thoughtlessly. 21. LORD, I hate those who hate you; I hate those who rise up against you. 22. I feel only hate for them they are my enemies.

This text speaks volumes about the believer’s personal constitution concerning His feeling about his God. And in 2022 we ought to have a personal feeling about anybody who oppose or dislike or disrespect or hate our God. If you see somebody disrespecting our God, you have my permission to get as far away from them as you can, because you’re next.” Mark my words if somebody don’t have a problem disrespecting God then they certainly don’t have a problem disrespecting you. David said I hate them! especially if they hate my God.

And then finally David says in 23  God, examine me and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts.

24 See if there is any bad thing in me.Lead me on the road to everlasting life.

David circles back from the general to the particular as they say in the seminary, back to divine examination. Because here’s what the text means “Before we can honestly say I hate those that hate my God”, we have to examine our own behavior and make sure that we are lining up with the word of God .

Because the worst thing in the world to do is to tell somebody else that they are on the wrong train tracks and when we check our own lifestyles we’re completely off the tracks altogether. Look at what David says in the closing scriptures of Psalm 139: 23. God, examine me and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. 24. See if there is any bad thing in me. Lead me on the road to everlasting life.

The songwriter said search me Lord and if you find anything that shouldn’t be take it out and strengthen me. David knew the frailties of the human spirit and David knew the faulty failing character that is enclosed in Human nature, and David knew that Godly character is not easily achieved over night. And as I leave you here today jsut let me says “It took us many years to get to be better god-fearing Christians.

And please be patient with me because God is not through working on me um um Great God I so glad that the Lord made us and not we ourselves. The Lord knows my ups and my downs The Lord knows when I’m happy and He know when I get sad.
