Transformed By Malachi - Part 2 - Where Is Your Faith?

Malachi 2:13 NLT
13 Here is another thing you do. You cover the Lord’s altar with tears, weeping and groaning because he pays no attention to your offerings and doesn’t accept them with pleasure.

Confession of Faith

I am not moved by what I see or by what I feel. I am moved by what I believe. I believe the WORD of God! The victory is mine! I have it now! I can see it through the eyes of my faith! In Jesus Name

Intro:
Today just like always God is looking for our faithfulness towards him and towards each other!
There is a Hymn written I believe in 1923 entitled
Great Is Thy Faithfulness
Lyrics go like this
Great is thy faithfulness, O God my father There is no shadow of turning with Thee Thou changest not, Thy compassions, they fail not As Thou hast been, Thou for ever will be Great is thy faithfulness Great is thy faithfulness Morning by morning new mercies I see All I have needed thy hand hath provided Great is thy faithfulness, Lord unto me Great is thy faithfulness
God Is Faithful
Malachi 2:10–13 NCV
10 We all have the same father; the same God made us. So why do people break their promises to each other and show no respect for the agreement our ancestors made with God? 11 The people of Judah have broken their promises. They have done something God hates in Israel and Jerusalem: The people of Judah did not respect the Temple that the Lord loves, and the men of Judah married women who worship foreign gods. 12 Whoever does this might bring offerings to the Lord All-Powerful, but the Lord will still cut that person off from the community of Israel. 13 This is another thing you do. You cover the Lord’s altar with your tears. You cry and moan, because he does not accept your offerings and is not pleased with what you bring.
Here we have Malachi accusing the people of God of compromising
Malachi is accusing the people of God of being hypocrites
Malachi is accusing the people of God of unfaithfulness
Malachi 2:10 (The Message)
10 Don’t we all come from one Father? Aren’t we all created by the same God? So why can’t we get along?
Here is the deal, if we are being transparent we disobey God and still are hoping for his mercy and grace
It’s like this - On the one hand we violated God’s commandments, but on the other hand we come to church, come to worship service and continue to pray, and plead for God to show us mercy
Question:
Do we really have intentions of truly repenting and changing our behaviors
So Malachi is challenging us today with the truth of God’s Word !
Malachi is challenging each of us with the commandments
Jesus even tells us in
Matthew 22:37–40 NKJV
37 Jesus said to him, “ ‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’ 38 This is the first and great commandment. 39 And the second is like it: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ 40 On these two commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets.”
Wake Up! Malachi is telling us directly that we are compromising who we are and becoming hypocrites
Malachi 2:13 NCV
13 This is another thing you do. You cover the Lord’s altar with your tears. You cry and moan, because he does not accept your offerings and is not pleased with what you bring.
But God
Great is your faithfulness Morning by morning new mercies I see All I have needed your hand has provided Great is your faithfulness, Lord to me Great is your faithfulness
Malachi is reminding us that we cannot be guilty hypocrites
Malachi is telling us today we cannot come before the Lord! and bring to him unacceptable worship!!
Here is the truth - Samuel tells us in
1 Samuel 15:22 The Living Bible
22 Samuel replied, “Has the Lord as much pleasure in your burnt offerings and sacrifices as in your obedience? Obedience is far better than sacrifice. He is much more interested in your listening to him than in your offering the fat of rams to him.
Wake Up!
God wants our obedience more than our offerings
God wants our obedience more than fervent prayers!
God wants our obedience more than the tears from sin
God wants our obedience more than dancing
God wants our obedience more than yelling hallelujah
God wants our obedience more than the meaningless amen’s
It means nothing if you have no intention of obeying the Lord!
Hear’s the deal,
A person - man or woman, boy or girl who breaks his or her word , his or her promise cannot be trusted or relied on!
Malachi is warning us that we must guard our spirits!
Be careful with your words,
Be careful with your vows to God
Wake Up!
There is a theme through out the bible regarding faithfulness
Proverbs 28:20 (AMP)
20 A faithful man shall abound with blessings...
1 Corinthians 4:2 NKJV
2 Moreover it is required in stewards that one be found faithful.
Say I must be Faithful To God
I Must be Faithful To God
We must remain loyal to God and loyal to each other
We must put into practice daily this faith no matter what the extenuating circumstances are
God - I'm hurting, but you are Faithful and I must be Faithful to you
God, I’m broken, but you are faithful and I must be faithful to you
God, I’m sick, - but you are faithful, I am faithful to you
I’m devoted to you God!
Great is Your Faithfulness
You have shown and proven to me how faithful you are
1 Kings 8:56 NLT
56 “Praise the Lord who has given rest to his people Israel, just as he promised. Not one word has failed of all the wonderful promises he gave through his servant Moses.
Lord you are faithful! Not one word has failed!
Everything you promise comes true
Morning by morning new mercies I see All I have needed your hand has provided
Great is Your Faithfulness
God is always reliable
God is always steadfast
God is always unmoveable
He is faithful in his love towards you and me
Your Faith transforms me!
Your Faith gives me Hope
Hebrews 13:8 NKJV
8 Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.
God has been faithful to protect and keep you and me!
When you should have been dead, sleeping in your grave God’s faithfulness has made you and I one of the one’s who have made it!!
2 Thessalonians 3:3 NLT
3 But the Lord is faithful; he will strengthen you and guard you from the evil one.
Wake Up! - God Is Faithful!
1 Corinthians 10:13 NKJV
13 No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it.
So he requires our faithfulness toward him
He requires our obedience to him
Wake Up!
We cannot live based on pop culture! - It changes like the wind
We cannot live based on social media trends - trends always change
We must live in obedience and faith to God!
Faith and Obedience to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ
Faith and Obedience to the Holy Word of God
Wake Up!
God Is Faithful!!!
The call today -
the transformation is to every increasing Faith and unfailing Obedience Today!
