Question to ask: ¿Porque Es Tan Dificil Esperar En Dios?
But I learned through out the years that wasn’t the way God works within our lives. We spend a lot of our time waiting. Waiting in line. Waiting for news. Waiting for a response. Waiting for a promotion from our jobs. Waiting for the next season of life. For Students waiting on the School year to end, That was me who can relate. But God is at work in our waiting. We might not see any changes in these times of waiting, particularly through times of difficulty and periods of personal growth, but there is a plan and purpose in all of it. We see various verses that uplift us to understand why waiting is totally fine. -
Lamentations 3:25 “The Lord is good to those who wait for him, to the soul who seeks him. Hosea 12:6 “So you, by the help of your God, return, hold fast to love and justice, and wait continually for your God.” Micah 7:7 But as for me, I will look to the Lord; I will wait for the God of my salvation; my God will hear me. Psalm 25:4-5 Make me to know your ways, O Lord; teach me your paths. Lead me in your truth and teach me, for you are the God of my salvation; for you I wait all the day long. 1
But also we read about various stories of Great men in the Bible that have waited and received blessings. But if we pay close attention, we can understand what the lord was taking them through, and why he had them wait, for example: Abraham having to wait until he was 100 years old to have first born son, I personally would have hooked my gloves up and called it a day after I was pass 50 years old. But He understood that he would become a father of many nations at God’s timing. We also know Jacobs story waiting for Rachel working almost 14years for her father and then receiving the blessing of his life. And lastly the life of Job someone who lost everything and went through extreme suffering but still waited on the Lord.
Relation to the Bible Story- Abraham was waiting for a son- Abraham had to wait on God for a son, an heir that would make him into a great nation. He had to believe with faith and have hope when there was no hope. “But Abram replied, “O Sovereign LORD, what good are all your blessings when I don’t even have a son? Since you’ve given me no children, Eliezer of Damascus, a servant in my household, will inherit all my wealth. You have given me no descendants of my own, so one of my servants will be my heir.” Then the LORD said to him, “No, your servant will not be your heir, for you will have a son of your own who will be your heir.” Then the LORD took Abram outside and said to him, “Look up into the sky and count the stars if you can. That’s how many descendants you will have!” And Abram believed the LORD, and the LORD counted him as righteous because of his faith.” Genesis 15:2-6 “Even when there was no reason for hope, Abraham kept hoping—believing that hewould become the father of many nations. For God had said to him, “That’s how many descendants you will have!”” Romans 4:18 “Abraham was 100 years old when Isaac was born.” Genesis 21:5
Jacob was waiting for Rachel- Genesis also contains the story of Jacob, Abraham’s grandson, waiting for the woman he loved, Rachel. Jacob had to wait for his spouse. Jacob waited 7 years for Rachel only to be deceived by her father Laban. He then had to agree to work 7 more years in return for Laban, in order to be able to marry Rachel. “Since Jacob was in love with Rachel, he told her father, “I’ll work for you for seven years if you’ll give me Rachel, your younger daughter, as my wife.”” Genesis 29:18 “But when Jacob woke up in the morning—it was Leah! “What have you done to me?” Jacob raged at Laban. “I worked seven years for Rachel! Why have you tricked me?” “It’s not our custom here to marry off a younger daughter ahead of the firstborn,” Laban replied. “But wait until the bridal week is over; then we’ll give you Rachel, too—provided you promise to work another seven years for me.” So Jacob agreed to work seven more years. A week after Jacob had married Leah, Laban gave him Rachel, too.” Genesis 29:25-28
4. Job - Waiting Through Suffering- “You have heard of the steadfastness of Job, and you have seen the purpose of the Lord, how the Lord is compassionate and merciful” (James 5:11). 2
We see God moves in mysterious ways that we don’t understand, But we do know his timing is PERFECT, Can y’all repeat that with me HIS TIMING IS PERFECT. Im not sure who has come this morning probably waiting to hear God’s Voice and waiting to receive a response to a petition, understand HIS TIMING IS PERFECT no matter what goes on around you and you feel like he isnt responding to you or If your troubles feel like they are overwhelming you Trust him and WAIT ON THE LORD. Ive seen his hand move in my life and I know he will in each and one of you.
