Intro
The world would have you believe that you have a new list of rules to follow as soon as you accept Christ.
That is simply not the case at all.
As soon as you accept Jesus, you are doing life with him, in pursuit of relationship, not rules.
Let’s remember how we have been saved!
We have been saved by Grace
Grace means we don’t deserve it.
Grace illustration
Through faith
We are only saved because God has extended his grace to us by sending his son to die, AND we’ve believed in the saving power of that sacrifice.
THATS IT.
There is nothing else that can save us.
I’m going to talk about this more on Thursday night...
We Cannot Boast of Gifts Freely Given.
Rules and Regulations are not the focus.
Living in Jesus is the focus.
Don’t let rules scare you away
Look for ways to deepen your relationship with Jesus, not rules to follow.
Rely on the Holy Spirit to grow you.
It’s not your responsibility to perfect yourself, it’s your responsibility to pursue Jesus and let the rest fall into place.
Not that it will always be easy, but we need to make sure we are focusing on the right things.
