What is the course?
What is the course?
When i think about what pur course is in life i think of two things two passages in scripture.
one of them is one we should all know by heart because it is new hopes foundational scripture
37 He said to him, “Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind. 38 This is the greatest and most important command. 39 The second is like it: Love your neighbor as yourself. 40 All the Law and the Prophets depend on these two commands.”
the second is
16 The eleven disciples traveled to Galilee, to the mountain where Jesus had directed them. 17 When they saw him, they worshiped, but some doubted. 18 Jesus came near and said to them, “All authority has been given to me in heaven and on earth. 19 Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe everything I have commanded you. And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”
our course is to make disciples, to teach them everything God has commanded us, what did Jesus command us?
the first passage yes love God love people.
i believe our course in our christian walk is to know God and make him know to all people
13 For everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved. 14 How, then, can they call on him they have not believed in? And how can they believe without hearing about him? And how can they hear without a preacher? 15 And how can they preach unless they are sent? As it is written: How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news.
we hold the good news of Jesus christ, in order to give good news or to understand how good this news really is we gotta know the bad news, if you were at the dr and he has the cure for the disease you have but you dontt know you have one and he just told you to take some medicine but didn't say why you wouldn't want to take it right? thats why knowing whats wrong helps you wan to get it right and the bad news is that is that we are all sinners, all guilty and fallen short to the glory of God, but guess what we are saved my the grace of God through Jesus

so what does staying the course look like?
12 Now we ask you, brothers and sisters, to give recognition to those who labor among you and lead you in the Lord and admonish you, 13 and to regard them very highly in love because of their work. Be at peace among yourselves. 14 And we exhort you, brothers and sisters: warn those who are idle, comfort the discouraged, help the weak, be patient with everyone. 15 See to it that no one repays evil for evil to anyone, but always pursue what is good for one another and for all. 16 Rejoice always, 17 pray constantly, 18 give thanks in everything; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus. 19 Don’t stifle the Spirit. 20 Don’t despise prophecies, 21 but test all things. Hold on to what is good. 22 Stay away from every kind of evil. 23 Now may the God of peace himself sanctify you completely. And may your whole spirit, soul, and body be kept sound and blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. 24 He who calls you is faithful; he will do it.
admonish means to advise someone about avoiding wrongdoing
it can be easy to do nothing
love always
helping olga
God is forever faithful, even when we arent.
i encourage you all to continue to stay the course, hold on to what is good as Paul says.
but these is still one part of the course i wanna talk about, ive said what i think our course is and what paul says staying on the course should look like but there are some of us that paul also talks about in Thessalonians, some who have been idle, who were on the course but stopped or veered off course. know something know that as long as your breathing its never too late to come back. God has a plan for you and will use you, you just have to be willing to do what God says jonah tried. prodigal son
