A mystery is something hidden. In this text, it is hidden no longer. Paul calls it a mystery because it used to be hidden. Now it is revealed. At the most basic level, mystery means God’s revealed Word. Yet the word mystery has this special focus: it is the Word of God never before revealed until now. I want you to see three aspects of the mystery Paul received.
