17 that is the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it does not see Him or know Him, but you know Him because He abides with you and will be in you.

18 “I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you.

23 Jesus answered and said to him, “If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our home with him.

John 16:12–13 (NKJV) 12 “I still have many things to say to you, but you cannot bear them now. 13 However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come.

Early Church

Matthew 4:1 Then Jesus was led up by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil.

Acts 8:29 Then the Spirit said to Philip, “Go up and join this chariot.”

Acts 10:19-20 While Peter was reflecting on the vision, the Spirit said to him, “Behold, three men are looking for you. But get up, go downstairs and accompany them without misgivings, for I have sent them Myself.”

Acts 13:2 While they were ministering to the Lord and fasting, the Holy Spirit said, “Set apart for Me Barnabas and Saul for the work to which I have called them.”

Acts 13:4 So, being sent out by the Holy Spirit, they went down to Seleucia and from there they sailed to Cyprus.

Acts 15:28 “For it seemed good to the Holy Spirit and to us to lay upon you no greater burden than these essentials:

Acts 16:6 They passed through the Phrygian and Galatian region, having been forbidden by the Holy Spirit to speak the word in Asia;

The World Needed the Early Church Because /they Had The Holy Spirit

Led By the Spirit - Son of God

Romans 8:13–17 (NASB95) 13 for if you are living according to the flesh, you must die; but if by the Spirit you are putting to death the deeds of the body, you will live. 14 For all who are being led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God. 15 For you have not received a spirit of slavery leading to fear again, but you have received a spirit of adoption as sons by which we cry out, “Abba! Father!” 16 The Spirit Himself testifies with our spirit that we are children of God, 17 and if children, heirs also, heirs of God and fellow heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with Him so that we may also be glorified with Him.

“Being Led”- verb- its not a theory or a past experience it is actually reality

The Difference- We are different because we are meant to be led by the Holy Spirit and not by what the rest of the world are led by.

Pre- Pentecost- Gods people were led by angels, Voices on mountains, Clouds and Pillars of Fire

Now- From the holy Spirit dwelling inside Gods people. Inner communication between you and the Holy Spirit.

Identified- we are identified as Sons of God by the fact that we are led by the Holy Spirit

Led- directed, guided, driven, to direct the movement of something

We Go with Him- Lead From The Front-to guide someone to a place especially by going in front. Disciples follow they dont lead.

To be lead you need to follow it.

Submit- give over control,

Control- the power to influence or direct people's behaviour or the course of events.

Cults- Control is a sign of a cult. Taking away its members right to chose.

Communism- Authoriterism- Autocratic leadership- Dictatorship

Control is typically a reaction to the fear of losing control. People who struggle with the need to be in control often fear being at the mercy of others, and this fear may stem from traumatic events that left them feeling helpless and vulnerable.

Trust- Faith- To give over control we need to trust. Have faith that God knows best and that He has our best intersets at heart- Love

Galatians 6:7–8 (NKJV) 7 Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap. 8 For he who sows to his flesh will of the flesh reap corruption, but he who sows to the Spirit will of the Spirit reap everlasting life.

Led by the Spirit- if you live life leed by the Spirit.......Conditional

Slaves- In Bondage

Fearful-

Adoption- Positioned As a son with all the rights of a son or daughter.

Negative Effects of Adoption on Adoptees Struggles with low self-esteem.

Identity issues, or feeling unsure of where they 'fit in'Difficulty forming emotional attachments

Born of The Spirit- To See The Kingdom John 3:3 (NASB95) 3 Jesus answered and said to him, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born again he cannot see the kingdom of God.”
