Matthew 28:18–20 CSB
18 Jesus came near and said to them, “All authority has been given to me in heaven and on earth. 19 Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe everything I have commanded you. And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”

Questions

You need to know the Gospel message backwards and forwards. What are four key themes that were described that you should be ready to explain in your own words with ease?
God, Problem, Hope, Decision
Sin, joy, faith, goodness
Love, peace, patience, temptation
Self control, creation, gentleness, kindness
2. All of God’s attributes are important, but which of the following is most important for a lost person to understand about God?
He is the provider
He is infinite
He is HOLY
He is sovereign
3. What are two problems that we have concerning God what we should mention when sharing the Gospel message?
We are not happy in life and we are not fulfilled
We have sinned against God and our good deeds won’t make it right with him
We are poor and we don’t have a good job.
We are physically sick and don’t see a way to be healed.
4. What are two key things that we should mention that provide hope concerning our greatest problem?
We have hope because we tell God we are sorry and try to be a good person
We have hope because we meditate and pray
We have hope because we confess our sins and promise never to do them again
We have hope because Jesus died on the cross for our sins, and rose from the dead
5. What is the decision we must make to be saved?
Be baptized
Come to church
Trust in Jesus
Be a good person

Why is it important?

It is the most vital part of living out the great commission
If we don’t know the gospel, how can we share the gospel.
The average window of attention is less than a minute. We need to understand what we are saying in such a short notice.
It helps us to get our message across
Share example of talking about God, but leave out the problem.

God

What do you know about God?
Creator of the universe
Loving God
All knowing, All powerful
Created the earth in 6 days, rested on the 7th.

Problem

What do you know about the problem?
We sinned, causing us eternal separation from Christ.
This issue constantly plagued God’s people throughout the old testament. They would be strong and fall away. (Same happens today)
We chose the ways of the world over the ways of God.

Hope

What do you know about the hope?
Jesus
God sent his son
God loved us enough to give us the ultimate sacrifice
Jesus paid the price we could not pay so that we can have eternal life with God.
Jesus lived a perfect life.

Decision

What do you know about the decision?
It all comes down to repenting of our sins and being commited to following Christ for the rest of your life.
Trust that Christ is who he said he was and died on the cross for your sins.
We can choose to reject Jesus and continue living in the ways of the world
Luke 9:23 CSB
23 Then he said to them all, “If anyone wants to follow after me, let him deny himself, take up his cross daily, and follow me.

Application

Break into smaller groups and give them one minute to share the gospel using the method we have learned
Do this with a few separate groups making sure each person is taking a turn
