Luke 15: 25-32
King James Version (Chapter 15)
25 Now his elder son was in the field: and as he came and drew nigh to the house, he heard musick and dancing.
26 And he called one of the servants, and asked what these things meant.
27 And he said unto him, Thy brother is come; and thy father hath killed the fatted calf, because he hath received him safe and sound.
28 And he was angry, and would not go in: therefore came his father out, and intreated him.
29 And he answering said to his father, Lo, these many years do I serve thee, neither transgressed I at any time thy commandment: and yet thou never gavest me a kid, that I might make merry with my friends: 30 But as soon as this thy son was come, which hath devoured thy living with harlots, thou hast killed for him the fatted calf.
31 And he said unto him, Son, thou art ever with me, and all that I have is thine.
32 It was meet that we should make merry, and be glad: for this thy brother was dead, and is alive again; and was lost, and is found.
WHY Y’ALL HATING?
+
Listen, out of All the parables that Jesus taught I believe that this is the most popular one of them ALL.
You already know that a parable is a earthly explanation of a heavenly reality.
When we look in This book of Luke Chapter 15, there are three parables with one meaning!
First we have “ The Lost Sheep” - You’re familiar what the BIBLE SAYS ABOUT HAVING ONE HUNDRED.
THE BIBLE TEACHES US NOT TO COUNT THAT ONE AS A LOST, AND GO ON ABOUT YOUR WAY; BUT GO AND SEARCH FOR THAT ONE!!!!!
We could learn a lesson from verses 3-7; We could stop the train right here, but we’re going to move on.
Let me share something with YOU!! Just for a moment let’s talk about children, our own children, foster children, neighbors, relatives.
Yall PRAY FOR THE PREACHER.
Sometimes you have to have the patience of Job!!! ok moving forward My wife & I had a conversation about that this morning.
(EXAMPLE) ***(TALK ABOUT THE TATTOO)***
My daughter has been keeping a child that she’s not related too nor hers.
She’s had the baby from 3 weeks.
The mother really doesn't want her child...... THE LOST SHEEP!!
Guest what?
Neither are perfect.
Some are considered as lost sheep.
Children, fighting, cussing, shooting!!!!
Is that ONE CHILD WORTH YOU EXTENDING YOUR ARM OUT TO THEM?
GIVING AN ENCOURAGING WORD, HAVING A CONVERSATION WITH THEM TRYING TO FIND OUT THE ROOT OF THE PROBLEM or SEEING IF THEY NEED PROFESSIONAL COUNSELING.
World events, just yesterday, 4th of July; shooting in parade.
This is nothing new, lets look into our communities..........LOST SHEEP!!!!
Then we have “ The Lost Coin”
You know about that woman having (10) pieces of silver; You don’t have to go light a candle, you must “BE A CANDLE IN A DARK PLACE AND FIND THAT WHICH IS LOST In other words go and talk to someone who’s lost about salvation.
I like what verse (10) says.....Likewise, I say unto you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner that repenteth.
When someone gives there life to the Lord we should be rejoicing with the angels.
AND NOW WE HAVE THE THIRD PARABLE WHICH WE ARE GOING TO TALK ABOUT, BUT HAVE A DIFFERENT PERSPECTIVE.
VERSES 1-24 TALKS ABOUT A SON WHO WANTED HIS INHERITANCE FROM HIS FATHER, AND HE GRANTED IT.
HE LEFT THE HOUSE WITH SAGGY PANTS, HAIR TWISTS, HAIR WILD N OUT, NEW I-PHONE, A TESLER WITH A BOWLING BALL PAINT JOB; HE WAS BALLIN & SHOT CALLIN ON 4 NEM GRAVE.
IN OTHER WORDS HE WAS OUTSIDE OF GOD’S WILL THEN HE FINALLY CAME TO HIMSELF AFTER THE MONEY RAN OUT.
NOW IT WAS TIME FOR HIM TO COME HOME.
ONCE HIS FATHER GREETED HIM, HE HAD HIS SERVANTS TO GIVE HIM A RIB,A ROBE, AND A RING.
Now is where we pick up at verse 25.
The brother that was already there, WAS LOST AT HOME!!!
I bet you saying Preacher how can you be lost at home.......We are about to find out if YOU HAVE BEEN THIS BROTHER OR SISTER THAT WE ARE TO TALK ABOUT, OR THAT MOTHER OR FATHER...... MY GOD...
FIRST LETS LOOK AT THE POSITION THAT HE HAD
SECONDLY LET’S LOOK AT THE PROBLEM THAT HE HAD
verse 28 The son was angry and would not go in.
his father came out and persuaded him to come in.
verse 29.
And he answering said to his father, Lo, these many years do I serve thee, neither transgressed I at any time thy commandment: and yet thou never gavest me a kid, that I might make merry with my friends:
What are your motives for what you do?
If your heart ain’t right you ain’t right.
It’s a matter of the heart.
We should do thing s that are pleasing to God and not man.
verse 30.
But as soon as this thy son was come, which hath devoured thy living with harlots, thou hast killed for him the fatted calf.
LASTLY WE HAVE “ PETITION HE HEARD (FROM HIS FATHER)
verse 31-32 And he said unto him, Son, thou art ever with me, and all that I have is thine.
32 It was meet that we should make merry, and be glad: for this thy brother was dead, and is alive again; and was lost, and is found.
THE SON THAT LEFT WANTED HIS FATHERS STUFF, BUT NOT THE FATHER.
