Missions Letter

Dear Prayer Warriors! 5th of July 2022
Well we are praising the Lord for HIS goodness to us two. We believe some of our health
issues are slowly getting better. We both reach 80 years of age things are looking up.
My dear Sandy will turn that magic number on the 11th of this July - I have something
special planed for her birthday. It is just amazing that we are still here; I believe there
are still some more people to be reached in our area with the Gospel of our wonderful
Saviour the Lord Jesus Christ. We met Mr. Akim and his family with their 3 children; they
all need Christ Jesus as their Saviour - pray for them fives.
The services are somewhat down in attendance. Lots of people here in Munich are still
afraid of COVID infections. Because of the Ukrainian war (or something like that)
prices are going up on food and gas at the pump. The good thing is, the city of Munich
has lowered their prices of bus and train transportation to 9 Euro (about $ 10.00) for
the month of June and July; generally it would cost that much per day. Our folks
praise the Lord.
Pray for Margret D., her daughter, and two grandsons, for Seiks family, Michael F. family,
Wolfgang A. family; they all still need to be saved. Pray for our new neighbors upstairs
and two Hanan sister, that they will come to the services; they are passing out 1000ed of
our Gospel of John and tracts.
We want to THANK you for all your prayers and support financially. Please do pray for the
salvation of the once listed. Thank you.
Sincerely your missionaries

Trust God’s Timing

In this day and age of fast passed life. When we want to know something we want to know it now. We want every detail and we want it quickly. We have access to limitless information in our hands. But how do we feel when we can’t find the information we want when we want it?
Tonight we are going to take a look at how we can read the signs of the times, but we have to trust God for the timing.

When have you seen for yourself that timing is everything?

Buying real-estate.
Putting the mower in reverse without backfiring.
Matthew 24:32–33 NKJV
32 “Now learn this parable from the fig tree: When its branch has already become tender and puts forth leaves, you know that summer is near. 33 So you also, when you see all these things, know that it is near—at the doors!
Figs were a common and favorite fruit for the people in the Middle East for centuries before this time. They are known for there low trunks and in spring they begin to show rough round leaves along with fruit that ripens in the summer months.
Jesus is saying just as this is a sign of summer coming so the things, he just told them about are a sign of his second coming.
He further emphasizes this by saying, “know that it is near—at the doors!
What are the signs?
Matthew 24:29 NKJV
29 “Immediately after the tribulation of those days the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light; the stars will fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken.

Why is it important that Jesus offered signs for those who follow Him?

Common problem with each generation of believers is the temptation to force end times prophecies into our context, into the events of our day. A wise observer of history should understand that when the preceding signs occur, that means that Christ return is near, even though the specific time will be a mystery.
Matthew 24:34–35 NKJV
34 Assuredly, I say to you, this generation will by no means pass away till all these things take place. 35 Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will by no means pass away.
Generation: Usually refers to a period of time during a normal lifespan of a person.
Some believe this could mean the Jewish people as a wholes existence.
Two part Prophecy Temple Destruction / Second Coming
verse 35, Is clear heaven and earth will come to an end but God’s Word will stand forever, true.

When has God’s Word proven true in your life?

Freedom found in Christ.
In the next verses we see that we should not speculate about the timing of Jesus’ return.
Matthew 24:36–41 NKJV
36 “But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, but My Father only. 37 But as the days of Noah were, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be. 38 For as in the days before the flood, they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the ark, 39 and did not know until the flood came and took them all away, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be. 40 Then two men will be in the field: one will be taken and the other left. 41 Two women will be grinding at the mill: one will be taken and the other left.
How were things in the day of Noah?
Verses 40-41- Two views.
Picture of the rapture.
Picture of the evil being taken to judgement.
Regardless we see a cense of urgency.
This passage shows us that in the end times there will be a clear separation between believers and unbelievers.

How is it actually helpful that Jesus didn’t give us a specific time or date for His return?

In what ways can we become sidetracked by discussion of the end times?

LIVE IT OUT

Jesus is certain to return even though we don’t know exactly when. Choose one of the following applications:
Reflect. Live today how you would live if this were your last day before Christ returns. Through the Scripture, Jesus gives several examples to denote the suddenness and unexpectedness of His return. Believers’ only option is to be always ready. Make today count by thinking of your actions, words, and outlooks in light of Christ’s return.
Read. Go back and read the story of Noah from Genesis 6–8. It may have been a while since you have revisited the message of that powerful narrative. Reading it can help you grasp the understanding of today’s lesson with greater intensity.
Memorize. Memorize Deuteronomy 29:29. This verse shows us that it’s God’s right to withhold information from us. Since God’s ways are so much higher than our ways, it’s understandable that God withholds some things we cannot understand. This reality can give us a deeper resolve to trust Christ’s words in Matthew 24:36. [LifeWay Adults (2021). (p. 140). Bible Studies for Life: Adult Leader Guide - KJV - Spring 2022. LifeWay Press.
