Date Written: 1446 B.C.
Outline:
I. The Old Generation Set Aside. chs.1-20
II. The New Generation Set Apart. chs.21-36
Here we find the REASONS why the old generation was set aside.

I. Why They Were Dismissed. v.22

They saw miracles in Egypt. v.22a
22 Because all those men which have seen my glory, and my miracles, which I did in Egypt
They tempted God in the wilderness. v.22b
and in the wilderness, and have tempted me now these ten times, and have not hearkened to my voice;

II. Why They Were Declined. v.23

The pronouncement of the Lord. v.23a
23 Surely they shall not see the land which I sware unto their fathers,
They provoked the Lord. v.22b
neither shall any of them that provoked me see it:

III. Why They Were Deficient. v.24

They lacked spiritual power. v.24a
Not by might.
24 But my servant Caleb, because he had another spirit with him,
Not by makeshift.
and hath followed me fully,
They lacked leading. v.24b
Caleb was prepared of God.
him will I bring into the land whereinto he went;
Caleb was promised by God.
and his seed shall possess it.

Conclusion:

Are you operating like the ones that denied God’s miracles and provoked Him?
Are you surrendered, submitted, and subjected to the Lord like Caleb?
