5 Irrefutable Laws of Life
5 Irrefutable Laws of Life
Are you happy?
Has your route to the good life, taken a turn down misery highway?
The pursuit of happiness isn’t a bad thing.
The problem is we’re unsure of what that word means and so we our journey toward happiness is like a road trip without a map.
Unsure of where we’re headed and certainly no idea how to get there.
But thankfully others have gone before us.
And God has provided wisdom.
So we have basic guidelines to help us on our journey.
If we can learn to follow them we’ll find some certainty regarding happiness.
So what “feels right” or feels good can be the enemy of God’s blessing in our lives.
Our Feelings/emotions should never determine, define, or direct.
Feeling cannot lead
We cannot build our lives, families, marriages, identities, or make vital decisions that have life-long consequences on the shifting sands of our feelings.
These Laws and your feelings are on collision course.
The question is which will win?
Your faith in the Laws of God or your desire to feed the feeling?
Today that text is better read as: There is a way “feels” right to a person, but its end is the way of death.
How does that make you feel?
So what?
We need to learn to tell ourselves, “So What?” Let’s Discover and practice the laws of God so we can have a better life!
The Law of Ownership
The Law of the farm
The Law of Sin
By the way...
Points of clarification
God’s the owner, so He’s the Judge!
Whether we are doing what’s right with our stuff (things, money, bodies) is based on His Judgement
Our actions have consequences, we reap what we sow.
So use God’s stuff wisely and be blessed
We are sinners who need a saviour
We need others ( I was not saying that we must have a spouse)
Also I haven’t been saying our emotions are wrong or bad, just that they are unreliable.
The Law of Eternity
By understanding and living in light of the law of Eternity we can live a more blessed and happy life
The kingdom of God vs earthly kingdom
Heaven is for real.
The kingdom of heaven is like…
Jesus taught and expressed the kingdom of God.
His teaching, his parables, his demonstrations of God’s power was his way of pointing us to God’s eternal kingdom.
Heaven is Coming
History is racing toward the time when His kingdom will ultimately fill the earth and God’s throne will prevail: “The kingdom of the world has become the kingdom of our Lord and of His Christ” (Revelation 11:15, see also 1 Corinthians 15:25, Revelation 22:1-5).
Until this completely happens, we “walk by faith, not by sight” (2 Corinthians 5:7)
Jesus message was a message of the Kingdom of God, the kingdom of Heaven.
It will be eternal.
The life of a believer today is proof of that.
In light of the Law of Eternity
Our priorities
We spend our energy, our time, our money on so much that is only temporary and we neglect that which will last forever.
luke 12:16-21 “And he told a parable to them, saying, “The land of a certain rich man yielded an abundant harvest.
And he reasoned to himself, saying, ‘What should I do?
For I do not have anywhere I can gather in my crops.’
And he said, ‘I will do this: I will tear down my barns and build larger ones, and I will gather in there all my grain and possessions.
And I will say to my soul, “Soul, you have many possessions stored up for many years.
Relax, eat, drink, celebrate!”
’ But God said to him, ‘Fool!
This night your life is demanded from you, and the things which you have prepared—whose will they be?’
So is the one who stores up treasure for himself, and who is not rich toward God!””
Our sufferings
in light of eternity our time here is so short.
And so our pain, suffering, loss, and trial need to be seen from an eternal perspective.
And so we have hope!
Eternity
Are you ready/preparing for Eternity?
Are you overly focused on the temporray?
