Our modern society just makes it worse. We want everything done quickly, and new devices are constantly spring up to meet those demands and encourage our in patients. We are not used to waiting, and the more our technology caters to our immediate desires, the less we feel willing to wait.

Our dilemma as Christians, while society makes every attempt to make our lives easier. God works very differently he doesn’t work on our time table. But we must understand there’s nothing wrong with waiting. In fact, waiting can actually be a positive good that he often uses to make us more like his son.

GOD IS AT WORK WHEN WE WAIT
There’s actually something happening while nothing is happening. God is doing something while we wait!
The story of Adam and eve is a story of rebellion against God. Once they believe that God didn’t have their interest in mind, they decided to go ahead without God and do what they want it.
That is what we often do today when God tells us to wait, we don’t, we take matters into our own hands to accomplish what we think needs to be done now.
while doing this sometimes we push God to aside going against his plan for us. This can create distance in our relationship with him. It causes us to get into trouble and brings pain.
For what does it benefit a person to gain the whole world and forfeit his life?
God wants us to learn how to follow him. One way he does this is to tell us to wait, or sometimes he is just silent. And that is the most uncomfortable, sometimes painful state to be in. But that is GOD’S must powerful way of allowing us to trust Him, and set us free. If we are willing that is.
At the crossroads
Our normal tendencies are not to start out by waiting. Our natural response to waiting is this anger or doubt. God is merciful and understanding of our tendencies. But it’s up to us to decide where our emotions will take us.
If we decide to exalt these feelings, we might act on them by taking matters into our own hands. Or perhaps will not act, or make demands to God. But God is asking us to wait Patiently.
Waiting on the Lord is the opposite of running ahead of the Lord and is the opposite of bailing out on the Lord, “Writes John Piper” . It’s important that we stay at our appointment place until he says go, It’s not impetuous and despairing.
So we have a choice to take a deep breath and let God be God and invite him to continue helping us. Or take matters into our own hands.
Pray that God works in yopray that God works in you
Only one of these options will bring us joy and that’s to accept his away in handling our lives, including his timing.
