The passage that I have been inspired to preach from thiiis morning is not a unfamiliar passage. If you have spent any time in church you probably have heard this account in the life of Jesus taught, read, or quoted at some point in your life. Jesus at this point has been the hot topic. He’s been the center of attention. In chapter 7, they are trying to identify who Jesus was. After his preaching and teaching some folk was sold on who Jesus was, while others was still rejecting him.
There is a hard truth that we as the people of God has to come to and that is that we will never be able to reach a point where everyone is for you. Let’s put it like this, you will ALWAYS have opposition in your life. You’re going to have it everywhere you go. Opposition can be found in the job, the family, your friends, your community, and even in the Church. You will always have opposition. But that’s okay. The opposition you are facing right now could be a sign that you are doing something right. Jesus says to us from Luke’s account of the Gospel in Luke 6:26 ““Woe to you, when all people speak well of you, for so their fathers did to the false prophets.” You should always be looking for the enemy to be prowling because he is like a roaring lion roaming to and fro seeking whom he may devour. It’s no different in our text today. The multitude is surrounding Jesus in the Temple as he teaches them. While teaching, opposition shows up. In the form of the Pharisees and Scribes. They have come to try to trap Jesus, they’ve come to try and set Jesus up. They bring before Jesus a woman whom they say they have caught in the very act of Adultery.
Let me explain the set-up, According to Deuteronomy 22:22-24, If a woman and man are caught in the act of adultery, the woman and the man BOTH suppose to be taken out the city and stoned. First thing, I have to ask is, where was the man? Second and more importantly to the direction of today’s sermon, if you were suppose to take them OUT of the city and stone them, why bring them IN to the Temple? They were trying to set Jesus up, but in trying to set Jesus up, they ended up setting the woman free in 3 ways.

Instead of taking her out of the City, to do what the LAW COMMANDED. They brought her IN the temple to Jesus.
When you find someone with issues and problems, we should as Children of God be trying our best to bring them to the one that can help them.
There is no help anywhere but in Jesus Christ
Old song writer said, “in the Word of God, I have a hiding place.”
Religion would’ve killed her, but they brought her to the Religion Killer.
God is not looking for Religious folk, he’s looking for people that desires to have a relationship
Religious folk look at the outward appearance, where God and his Children looks at the heart.
