Intro: Pentecostal Power?

“Slain in the spirit” churches
Atheist who pretended
We are called to mediate Christ to the world. How should we bring people to him?
Do we feel the need to prop up the gospel? Or do we think it can stand on its own?

A kingdom of priests: this passage applies not only to me, but to all who follow Christ

As many of you as were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ

Anointing
Anointing signifies God’s calling on one’s life
We are anointed with the greater oil of the Holy Spirit
Sacrifices
Sacrifices further consecrate and sanctify the priests and sanctuary/altar
Likewise, we are consecrated and sanctified by the blood of Christ. Our purification does not end at baptism, but continues on
Blood on ear lobe, thumb, and toe
Symbol of the role of priests: The ear receives God’s word while the hands and feet carry them out
We have heard the Gospel and are now called to be workers for the harvest
Seven days of rest and solitude at the tent
We must spend time with God before going out to serve the people
Waiting on God before we act is paramount
Disciples wait for Pentecost
On the eighth day, the priests begin ministering to the people
eight day significance
We can only minister insofar as we have recieved new life from God
