Paul Reminds Us 1 Corinthians 3:16 (NKJV) 16 Do you not know that you are the temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you?

He Speaks to us on behalf of Jesus John 10:27 (NIV) 27 My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me.

Early Church

Matthew 4:1 Then Jesus was led up by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil.

Acts 8:29 Then the Spirit said to Philip, “Go up and join this chariot.”

Acts 10:19-20 While Peter was reflecting on the vision, the Spirit said to him, “Behold, three men are looking for you.

But get up, go downstairs and accompany them without misgivings, for I have sent them Myself.”

Led By the Spirit - Son of God

Romans 8:14–17 (NKJV) 14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God. 15 For you did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out, “Abba, Father.”

16 The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God, 17 and if children, then heirs—heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with Him, that we may also be glorified together.

The Holy Spirit Was Sent To Lead Us- There is a voice within us that is wanting to lead us

Led- directed, guided, driven, to direct the movement of something

To Something or Somewhere- The Holy Spirit is or wants to take you some where -Somewhere God wants you.

From Something or Somewhere- To go you have to leave- You cant go if you dont leave.

sometimes its a physical location change but most often its a internal location change - often to do with your way of thinking about yourself, situation or future

Where you Are Right Now Is Meant To Be Tempeorary -Your Not Meant To Remain Where You Are-

Holy Spirit Leads Us Into More Truth- John 16:13 (NIV) 13 But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all the truth.

He will not speak on his own; he will speak only what he hears, and he will tell you what is yet to come.

Leaving Deception- Error

Leading Not The Bondage of Fear 15 For you did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear,

Slaves- In Bondage- subservience -be controlled like a slave

slave to fear- your life is marked by your fear- it dominants you

Again To Fear- A repetition to fear- living a life going in and out of fear- a life of intermitent bondage

Led By Fear- We make choices and decisions as a reult of what we fear.

“I fear being poor so.....Ill follow the dollar… wont be generous”

“I fear being alone so I .....settle for.....give myself to easy”

“ I fear trusting people because Ive been.......”

“I fear failing so Ill stay where its save...”

Leading us to be Sons of God --- Heirs of God

Definition of Inheritance- Bible- the transfer of land or possessions from a (deceased) parent to a child or a descendant

Dict.

Inherit- to receive the wealth and riches of the family you are born or adopted into.

to receive money, property, or possessions from someone after the person has died: Jesus died so you receive

“Ive got nothing or any future ahead of me....” But what about your inheritance?

“I come from a poor family and because of that I am and will live under that bondage...” But what about your inheritance?

Holy Spirit Is The Lawyer who informs us of our legal standing as Sons of God

Lead Us To Greater Works- The Acts of The Apostles- Works

Greater Works- John 14:12 (NIV) 12 Very truly I tell you, whoever believes in me will do the works I have been doing, and they will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father.

-Jesus had to leave so the father would sent the Holy Spirit.

The Holy Spirit came to dwell in us so we could be channels for these “greater works”

Works- Deeds or Acts of Good

Greater miracles

Greater Capacity To love- Forgive

Greater Generosity- Kindness- Mercy

Greater Influence- Impact- Success

Led By The Spirit or Our Own Abilities

Control- I desire to control is the enemy of being Led By The Spirit

Led by the Spirit To The Greater God Has

Control is typically a reaction to the fear of losing control.

People who struggle with the need to be in control often fear being at the mercy of others, and this fear may stem from traumatic events that left them feeling helpless and vulnerable.

Family Resembalence- Family features that are passed througth generations- “Hes his fathers son” “she is her mothers daughter”

Jesus Was Hated And Crucified because He said”Im the Son of God” by the religious institution.

Your father is the Devil John 8:44 (NKJV) 44 You are of your father the devil, and the desires of your father you want to do.

He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him.

When he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own resources, for he is a liar and the father of it.

“Are Being Led”- verb- its not a theory or a past experience it is actually reality

Not just last year or 6 years ago.

at present are you being led by the Holy Spirit?

Evidence- Fruits of the Spirit - Fruits of the flesh Gal.5

We Go with Him- Lead From The Front-to guide someone to a place especially by going in front.

Disciples follow they dont lead.

To be lead you need to follow it.

To let Someone Lead/Guide You Must.....

Understand They Know more than you- “All truth”

Trust Them

Submit- give over control,

Control- the power to influence or direct people's behaviour or the course of events.

Cults- Control is a sign of a cult.

Taking away its members right to chose.

Communism- Authoriterism- Autocratic leadership- Dictatorship

Trust- Faith- To give over control we need to trust.

Have faith that God knows best and that He has our best intersets at heart- Love
