Has there been a time in your life where you were desperate for help? You were desperate for God to answer you and come to the rescue? Sure we have all been there. But, there may have been times that it felt as if God was not responding or slow to answer. The Psalmist desires and pleads for God to deliver him and to help him. This Psalm that we are going to read today is a prayer for help.
Has there been a time in your life where you faced a crisis and had a prayer similar to this???
-God deliver me from this besetting sin.
-God deliver me from this physical ailment.
-God deliver me from this abuse or injustice.
What ever it may be there are times throughout our lives where we all have faced a similar prayer to that of David.
Desire God.
1 Make haste, O God, to deliver me! O Lord, make haste to help me!
2. Trust in God’s Righteous Vindication.
2 Let them be put to shame and confusion who seek my life! Let them be turned back and brought to dishonor who delight in my hurt!
3 Let them turn back because of their shame who say, “Aha, Aha!”
3. Delight in God.
4 May all who seek you rejoice and be glad in you! May those who love your salvation say evermore, “God is great!”
4. Depend on God.
5 But I am poor and needy; hasten to me, O God! You are my help and my deliverer; O Lord, do not delay!
When we as believers find ourselves in the midst of a crisis or in difficult moments and we desperately want God to hear us and come to our rescue we can find help in knowing these 4 brief thoughts.
