Mission Statement
“We are a community of Christ-centered disciples who Love God, Love Others, and Make Disciples of Jesus Christ.”.
What is a Disciple?
Someone growing in their knowledge of God, being transformed by God, doing the will and work of God.
Someone following Jesus, Growing in Jesus, and on mission for Jesus.

II. The testing of Jesus

The Scene
v. 2 - Jesus teaches in the temple
vv. 3 - 4 - The woman brought to Jesus
The Test
vv. 5-6a
Law of Moses
Deuteronomy 22:22 NASB95
22 “If a man is found lying with a married woman, then both of them shall die, the man who lay with the woman, and the woman; thus you shall purge the evil from Israel.
Leviticus 20:10 NASB95
10 ‘If there is a man who commits adultery with another man’s wife, one who commits adultery with his friend’s wife, the adulterer and the adulteress shall surely be put to death.
Deuteronomy 22:23–24 NASB95
23 “If there is a girl who is a virgin engaged to a man, and another man finds her in the city and lies with her, 24 then you shall bring them both out to the gate of that city and you shall stone them to death; the girl, because she did not cry out in the city, and the man, because he has violated his neighbor’s wife. Thus you shall purge the evil from among you.
They were testing Him to accuse Him. They were constantly trying to accuse Jesus.

III. The response of Jesus

v. 6b (v. 8)
He stooped down
What was He writing?
v. 7, 9- Who is without sin?
When they heard it...
He was left alone
v. 10-11 - The Woman
Exalting Jesus in John Jesus Acts with Authority (John 8:1–11)

At that moment stoning, as horrible as it seems, may be welcome. She’s been disgraced. Then Jesus covers her disgrace with his grace. He levels the playing field by quietly making each man admit his own sin, and then instead of condemning her, he forgives her. Not only does he forgive her, but he also transforms her future. He doesn’t give her a license to keep sinning. He gives her a reason to stop.

Where are your accusers?
I do not condemn you.
John 3:17-21
John 8:12

IV. Conclusion

Acts 17:22-31
We must know God...
