Romans 1:28–32 NASB95PARA
And just as they did not see fit to acknowledge God any longer, God gave them over to a depraved mind, to do those things which are not proper, being filled with all unrighteousness, wickedness, greed, evil; full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, malice; they are gossips, slanderers, haters of God, insolent, arrogant, boastful, inventors of evil, disobedient to parents, without understanding, untrustworthy, unloving, unmerciful; and although they know the ordinance of God, that those who practice such things are worthy of death, they not only do the same, but also give hearty approval to those who practice them.
We know that ever since Jesus came in the flesh the last days began. Heb 1:2
Hebrews 1:2 NASB95PARA
in these last days has spoken to us in His Son, whom He appointed heir of all things, through whom also He made the world.
Paul, as he warns us in Rom 1:28-32 considered them to be already present during his time as he instructs Timothy to beware of them and of course, we are told that evil only goes from bad to worst! 2 Tim 3:13
2 Timothy 3:13 NASB95PARA
But evil men and impostors will proceed from bad to worse, deceiving and being deceived.
That being said, we had over 2000 years to go from bad to worst
Also, Paul shows Timothy how to be a good Minister of the faith as these last days began with birth of Jesus Christ!
I must make a special note; 1 Tim 4:6-16 which has special value toward my understanding of what God is speaking to me personally. 6-16 has been revealing it’s self over and over in my life as a number of warning-mostly!
And hear in 1 Tim 4:6-16 is no difference, as it warns me to walk in the way prescribe in these verses
1 Timothy 4:6–16 NASB95PARA
In pointing out these things to the brethren, you will be a good servant of Christ Jesus, constantly nourished on the words of the faith and of the sound doctrine which you have been following. But have nothing to do with worldly fables fit only for old women. On the other hand, discipline yourself for the purpose of godliness; for bodily discipline is only of little profit, but godliness is profitable for all things, since it holds promise for the present life and also for the life to come. It is a trustworthy statement deserving full acceptance. For it is for this we labor and strive, because we have fixed our hope on the living God, who is the Savior of all men, especially of believers. Prescribe and teach these things. Let no one look down on your youthfulness, but rather in speech, conduct, love, faith and purity, show yourself an example of those who believe. Until I come, give attention to the public reading of Scripture, to exhortation and teaching. Do not neglect the spiritual gift within you, which was bestowed on you through prophetic utterance with the laying on of hands by the presbytery. Take pains with these things; be absorbed in them, so that your progress will be evident to all. Pay close attention to yourself and to your teaching; persevere in these things, for as you do this you will ensure salvation both for yourself and for those who hear you.
There's a certain walk God expects from us who believe! I personally find it hard to fulfill some of the things mention here in 1 Tim 4:6-16 I am truly a work in-progress!
However, one thing I do know, is to keep on study my bible, especially, as the time draws near!
Now, as I study about the last day’s which is now over 2000 years past, since the days of Jesus until possibly our generation when Jesus returns for the last time Mark 13:30
Mark 13:30 NASB95PARA
Truly I say to you, this generation will not pass away until all these things take place.
I found, in scripture, more and more convincing evidence that we are in fact the last generation. We are the generation, pointing from the time of Jesus and as sin progressively getting worst over the past 2000 years + the time has drawn closer to the Rapture of the Church and the start of the 7 year Tribulation period.
How do I know? Hummm? This is a good question! There are so many bible students in our day that are saying the rapture is near! That’s because, what the bible says--- seems very much like in our day. Things mention in the bible reflect things happening today. Yes, even back in Apostle Paul’s days sin was very much around-maybe even more so in some area’s, like being crucified or fed to the lions for the faith in Jesus. We don’t have that today---however, in Paul’s day that was on a much smaller scale.
Today, is quite a different story. We have Global events that far exceed things that happened over 2000 years ago.
And Why are we so much more sinful than back in Paul’s time? Simply because of the thing called knowledge or Science! And in fact, if we consider the whole counsel of God then we need to journey back over 5000 years to our generation in Gen 11:1-9
Genesis 11:1–9 NASB95PARA
Now the whole earth used the same language and the same words. It came about as they journeyed east, that they found a plain in the land of Shinar and settled there. They said to one another, “Come, let us make bricks and burn them thoroughly.” And they used brick for stone, and they used tar for mortar. They said, “Come, let us build for ourselves a city, and a tower whose top will reach into heaven, and let us make for ourselves a name, otherwise we will be scattered abroad over the face of the whole earth.” The Lord came down to see the city and the tower which the sons of men had built. The Lord said, “Behold, they are one people, and they all have the same language. And this is what they began to do, and now nothing which they purpose to do will be impossible for them. Come, let Us go down and there confuse their language, so that they will not understand one another’s speech.” So the Lord scattered them abroad from there over the face of the whole earth; and they stopped building the city. Therefore its name was called Babel, because there the Lord confused the language of the whole earth; and from there the Lord scattered them abroad over the face of the whole earth.
Let’s Stop and take a look at why God divided the people? God made Man in His own image Gen 9:6
Genesis 9:6 NASB95PARA
“Whoever sheds man’s blood, By man his blood shall be shed, For in the image of God He made man.
Man has the living God in him and is smart enough to do things never done before. When I read in the KJV 1 Tim 6:20
1 Timothy 6:20 (NASB95PARA)
O Timothy, guard what has been entrusted to you, avoiding worldly and empty chatter and the opposing arguments of what is falsely called “knowledge”—[Science]
This can be for the good of man or used for evil. Today the term,”Trust the Science” has taken a whole new feel to it! God said, that our deeds are as filthy rags in His sight Isa 64:6
Isaiah 64:6 NASB95PARA
For all of us have become like one who is unclean, And all our righteous deeds are like a filthy garment; And all of us wither like a leaf, And our iniquities, like the wind, take us away.
Psalm 53:3 NASB95PARA
Every one of them has turned aside; together they have become corrupt; There is no one who does good, not even one.
Romans 3:12 NASB95PARA
All have turned aside, together they have become useless; There is none who does good, There is not even one.”
You see, from the beginning our first parents sinned and God since then cursed the earth of mankind that He created. Death, Satan and Demons, became proactive in this world and the Apostle John said,” do not love this world or the things in it [if you do] the love of the Father ‘God’ is not in you” 1 John 2:15
1 John 2:15 NASB95PARA
Do not love the world nor the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him.
From that time on man has gone astray from obeying God as Creator. Things from that time on got so bad, so bad, God had enough and Flooded the earth, saving only 8 people [Noah & Family]
God, started over, this time said, “He will never destroy the earth by water again.” So, He created the Rain Bow and placed it in the sky to show us proof and a reminder to us that He won’t destroy the earth again by water.
That was a long time ago and since then, in our generation something very strange is happening. In the book of Romes 1st & 2nd Chapter God tells us all that the very nature of all that He has created in evidence of His existence. However, being our good deeds are as a filthy rag in His pure sight, God provided a rescue plan. God sent His one and only Son Jesus Christ as a redemption for our sins. And all who believes in His Son Jesus, through repentance of sin we in fact be forgiven and saved from the coming wrath of God.
Well, just imagine, those souls who watched Noah and his family rise up in the storm as everyone else drown from their sins. The book of Romans has something far worst then that happening in our day. God, has something worst for those who refuse His free gift through Jesus Christ. God, is handing over people to sin and Damnation-Hell eternal.
What does this mean? Let’s try and break this down in layman's terms.
God gives us a Rain Bow as a reminder of His love for us, never to destroy the earth again with water. This Rain Bow has 7 colors to it and is invisible to the touch-if you ever tried to catch one, it always seems to move from one place to another
Fast forward [Gen 9:13] “13 I have set my rainbow in the clouds, and it will be the sign of the covenant between me and the earth.” NIV 6000 B.C. years ago and the Apostle Paul wrote in the book of Romans about this Rainbow and the effects it will have over A.D. 2000 + years latter.
In Romans 1,2 Has much to says about this Rainbow God set as a reminder and what happens to it in our day A.D. 2000 + years latter from when Paul wrote
The Lord is not slow in having His way as some may think as they say,”so where is this second coming of the Lord, things have been this way ever since His first coming.” 2 Pet 3:9
2 Peter 3:9 NASB95PARA
The Lord is not slow about His promise, as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing for any to perish but for all to come to repentance.
Yes, Peter also tells us that one days this world will, in fact, be destroyed by fire.
