Being Jesus (Becoming Jesus)

Imagers of God – Genesis 1:27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.

· Jesus reflected the glory of God – And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth. John 1:14

o You – were created in the image of God – So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them. Genesis 1:27.

Jesus Christ, the ultimate imager of God and our example – 1 Peter 2:21 For even hereunto were ye called: because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow his steps:

This is the disciple which testifieth of these things, and wrote these things: and we know that his testimony is true. 25 And there are also many other things which Jesus did, the which, if they should be written every one, I suppose that even the world itself could not contain the books that should be written. Amen. John 21:24-25.

If one Jesus could do so much, how much more could 100K Jesus’ do? Could they not change the world?

John 14:1-14 (Last week I read John 14:1-9, and we dealt with Loyalty vs. Devotion)

He said, “Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.” John 14:12.

How is that possible? All you have to do is become Jesus. (This is not an exhaustive list of scriptures)

· Jesus was fully man – For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin. Hebrews 4:15.

o You are called to be Christ like – For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren. Romans 8:29.

§ Philippians 2:5 - Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:

· Jesus was obedient – And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross. Philippians 2:8.

o You are called to obedience as well

o Galatians 2:20 I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.

· Jesus and the Father are one – That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me. John 17:21

o You are called to be ONE as well – John 17:21 …that they also may be one in us…

· Jesus was a Preacher – Luke 4:18 The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised,

o You are commanded – Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Matthew 28:19.

· Jesus worked – But Jesus answered them, My Father worketh hitherto, and I work. John 5:17

o You – Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven. Matthew 5:16.

· Jesus glorified the Father – Therefore, when he was gone out, Jesus said, Now is the Son of man glorified, and God is glorified in him. John 13:31

o You – Herein is my Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit; so shall ye be my disciples. John 15:8

· Jesus is the Son of God – Then they that were in the ship came and worshipped him, saying, Of a truth thou art the Son of God. Matthew 14:33 (There are many verses to choose from)

o You – Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not. 1 John 3:1.

· Jesus was anointed – filled with the Holy Spirit. Acts 10:38 How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.

o You are to be filled – But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: Acts 1:8a.

· Jesus said, “And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever;” John 14:16

o You– If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you. John 15:7.

You were created in the image of God, Predestinated to be conformed to His, One with Him and the Father, Called to proclaim the Good News, You are to be a light before mankind, Meant to glorify the Father, Called a child of God, Filled with the Holy Spirit who now dwells in you.

There it is!

You can be Jesus! After all, What’s in a man ought to come out of a man.

Matthew 21:16 …Yea; have ye never read, Out of the mouth of babes and sucklings thou hast perfected praise? (in Psalm 8:2)

If Jesus is in you, let Him out! Manifest Him!

You are already seated together with Him in heavenly places. Ephesians 2:6.
