What kind of leader can be meek and mild and have the power that’s needed to lead the Jews out of the hands of the Romans? The Beatitude of humility/meekness was a joke to the Jews… and you know what? It’s one of the reasons that they eventually murdered Him. Jesus said, “Fine, you guys don’t want me— I’ll go to the Gentiles and talk to you in riddles/parables.” And since we got Jesus on the rebound, we will not ignore His words today. We want to put Jesus’ words into practice.
