I. The Bible is from God. (3:16)

• 1. Revelation = the direct communication of truth from God to others.
• 2. Inspiration = God guided the human writers so they accurately wrote what He wanted written. (John 14:25, 25; 16:13; II Pet. 1:19-21).
• B. The product : A totally reliable message from God.
• 1. Consistency and unity .
• 2. Amazing accuracy . (Isa.55:10, 11; 40:22; Job 26:7; Lev. 17:11, 14).
• 3. Profound answers .

II. The Bible is authoritative.

• A. For all people .
• B. For all times . (I Pet. 1:23-25; Matt. 24:35).

III. The Bible helps us develop a complete life . ( 3:16,17).

• A. Reveals truth . (teaching).
• B. Reveals us . (rebuking) - James 1:22-25).
• C. Redirects us. (correcting) - Isa. 48:17-18).
• D. Guides us. (training in righteousness) - Ps. 119:105; Josh. 1:6-8).

• Goals :
• - maturity (3:17) - salvation (3:14-15).
• What will I do in response to God's guide for life ?
