What a paradox! What on the one hand was a time of darkness and death was also one of glory and triumph. At the cross the Father would be honored, the world's sin would be judged, and the world's ruler would be cast out. Like a grain of wheat, Jesus would fall to the ground and die and by doing so, bring life.
