Romans 1:28–32 (NKJV)
And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a debased mind, to do those things which are not fitting; being filled with all unrighteousness, sexual immorality, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, evil-mindedness; they are whisperers, backbiters, haters of God, violent, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, undiscerning, untrustworthy, unloving, unforgiving, unmerciful; who, knowing the righteous judgment of God, that those who practice such things are deserving of death, not only do the same but also approve of those who practice them.
They did not consider it proper to keep God in mind
i.e by praising him and thanking him
The source of all wicked deeds is godlessness
Where do you witness godlessness in your day to day?
Isaiah 26:3 “You will protect a firm inclination in peace, in peace because he trusts in you.”
What keeps your mind stayed on God?
Notice how he lumps all these sins in together
Not only does he throw “small sins in with big sins”
He also says “O and if you approve of those who practice them”
Culture consistently tries to go in the way of less morality
“How do you keep from partaking/approving the things of the World?”
Keep out of it!
Romans 2:1–4 (NKJV): Therefore you are inexcusable, O man, whoever you are who judge, for in whatever you judge another you condemn yourself; for you who judge practice the same things. 2 But we know that the judgment of God is according to truth against those who practice such things. 3 And do you think this, O man, you who judge those practicing such things, and doing the same, that you will escape the judgment of God? 4 Or do you despise the riches of His goodness, forbearance, and longsuffering, not knowing that the goodness of God leads you to repentance?
He puts us all on blast here
We are inexcusable
Not only are we all inexcusable
That we condemn ourselves in judgement
Why do you think as humans we’re so obsessed with judgment?
How do we keep from being judgmental?
Judge a tree by their fruit
Walking in Love
The goodness of God lead you to repentance
How do we show others the goodness of God?
