GOD GOT THIS Exodus 3:7 The LORD said, “I have indeed seen the misery of my people in Egypt. I have heard them crying out because of their slave drivers, and I am concerned about their suffering. 8 So I have come down to rescue them from the hand of the Egyptians and to bring them up out of that land into a good and spacious land, a land flowing with milk and honey—the home of the Canaanites, Hittites, Amorites, Perizzites, Hivites and Jebusites.

To begin with, All of what we go through listen 2x “God’s Divine Hand is in it” So God Got This. And there are a few questions that I want us to consider before we dive deep down in to the delivering word of God. We’re going to look at some of The things Moses faced and possibly some of the things we may be faced with in 2022.

Let’s get started Exodus 3:1 starts off teach talking and telling us that Moses was tending the flock of Jethro his father-in-law, the priest of Midian, and he led the flock to the far side of the desert and came to Horeb, the mountain of God. First question is how did Moses get there? Moses wind up in the Land of Midian because in his past he was a Prince in Pharaoh's house for 40 years . He was very astute and well learned. But when Moses found out that he was an adopted Hebrew slave by birth. He went and saw how atrocious the Egyptians were treating the Hebrews Slaves. Through observing many injustices Moses wind up killing an Egyptian taskmaster and buried him in the sands. When everybody found out about the murder Moses ran off and wandered in the land of Midian. Moses meet and married Zipporah Jethro’ daughter. Moses had Gersom and other children and his father-in - law, Jethro was a Midianite Priest. and Moses stayed there another 40 years and now he’s 80 years old herding Jethro’s flock. And one day while on the back side of the mountain of God Moses saw something spectacular Verse 2 says that Moses saw the Burning Bush Look at the text V 2.There the angel of the LORD appeared to him in flames of fire from within a bush. Moses saw that although the bush was on fire it did not burn up. What this means besides the Literal miracle of the Burning Bush event is that God knows how to get your attention… You’ve got to listen and be in tune with the Spirit of the True and Living God to catch it. God has to almost smack some of us side the head too get out attention. God got Moses’ attention. And the text says that in V 3 So Moses thought, “I will go over and see this strange sight—why the bush does not burn up.” 4 When the LORD saw that he had gone over to look, God called to him from within the bush, “Moses! Moses!”And Moses said, “Here I am.” God Got Moses attention. question is what is God going to have to do to get your attention?

5 “Do not come any closer,” God said. “Take off your sandals, for the place where you are standing is holy ground.” Some people can come to church any old kind of way and do anything while they are there. I’m scared to play with God. God hold up Moses! Take off your shoes because the very ground you’re standing on is Holy Ground. Then God says the famous iconic words in verse 6 Moreover he said, I am the God of thy father, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob. Well who is that Supernatural deity that Moses call God. God is Elohim the God head plural, He Elshaddi the Supreme God, He’s Jehovah Adonai the Self existing One, and many other powerful Names And the bible says that Moses hid his face; for he was afraid to look upon God. There was a reverent fear and respect for God. And I’m afraid that too many of us take God for granted. And then after the acknowledging of the Person and divine entity and in essence that He is Moses’ Spiritual Boss man. God gives Moses the run down.

Look at verse 7 The LORD said, “I have indeed seen the misery of my people in Egypt. I have heard them crying out because of their slave drivers, and I am concerned about their suffering. The Lord sees what we’re going through The saw what the Hebrew slaves were going through. The knows all about it. In 2022 just let back in biblical antiquity the God of the universe know all about our situation. Even in 2022 we still have too many oppressive scenarios in our lives. Too many!!! But the Lord sees And Hebrew vernacular the Lord sees is the word El Roi. And I thank God that He sees and he keeps His eye on me, He knows my situation and My God cares about what happens to me . Type in there my God cares about what happens to me. God is first letting Moses feel the sympathy for the people He Pastors. And at this point God is empathetic about Israels suffering and then Christ went way pass empathy and took on Propitiation and became sin for the sins of the whole wide world. Look at Verse 8 and let’s point out the parallelism between the OT God and the NT revelation it says 8 So I have come down to rescue them from the hand of the Egyptians and to bring them up out of that land into a good and spacious land, a land flowing with milk and honey—the home of the Canaanites, Hittites, Amorites, Perizzites, Hivites and Jebusites. So God came down to rescue us from the grips of sin and oppression. He aslo gives Moses a description of the Promised Land. It a land that flowed with milk and honey. Canaan had other inhabitants but when God promises something you can bank on it. God said Moses I the Lord Am going to deliver my children from the gasly gruesome grips of Egyptian slavery. God says I hear their cries.... And what that means in 2022 God hears our cries. Dr. Tellis Chaptman from Pascagoula, Mississippi who pastors in Detroit, Michigan taught us at the FE Ray Expository Preaching conference that God lowers His voltage and comes down an sees about us.Oh yes he does. because the text says 8 So I have come down to rescue them from the hand of the Egyptians and to bring them up out of that land into a good and spacious land, a land flowing with milk and honey—the home of the Canaanites, Hittites, Amorites, Perizzites, Hivites and Jebusites. That good news to me because it let’s me know if God did once He can do it again. Jehovah El Roi sees my situation. Verse 9 says 9 And now the cry of the Israelites has reached me, and I have seen the way the Egyptians are oppressing them. God says Moses I see what they are doing my people They are oppressing them The word oppressing in the Hebrew vernacular is the Word Lachats it means distressing and afflicting. And at this point God proposes and provides a solution and Moses is about to get a promotion. Moses was a Prince in Egypt for 40 years, Moses is now being a Pauper herding dumb sheep for 40 years and now God is getting ready to elevate Moses to the status of prophet for the last 40 years of his life.

Look at verse 10 So now, go. I am sending you to Pharaoh to bring my people the Israelites out of Egypt.” Wow !!!! Moses should have been excited about God’s proposal and excited about God’s promotion but he wasn’t Look at what Moses’ response was in Verse 11 But Moses said to God, “Who am I, that I should go to Pharaoh and bring the Israelites out of Egypt?” The first question I asked us to answer when we started this lesson was 1. Have there been times when you were discouraged about a God given assignment or opportunity? Before Moses had even tried to see understand or apply God’s request He was already giving excuses. And some us are just like that and you know what’s going to happen? Some of us are going to go to heaven and God is going to say here are all of the accomplishments you could have done. I hope I’m wrong but I speaking over your life that you will start taking the Godly challenge to accomplish some things that may be hard. Because is God said it that God is going to be with you.

12 And God said, “I will be with you. And this will be the sign to you that it is I who have sent you: When you have brought the people out of Egypt, you will worship God on this mountain.”
12 And God said, “I will be with you. And this will be the sign to you that it is I who have sent you: When you have brought the people out of Egypt, you will worship God on this mountain.”
2. How did God reassure Moses in the matter? 1. God said Moses I am going to be with you. 2. And this will be the sign that I’m with you In other words I’m going to give you tangible proof. 3. The proof is when my people are delivered come back and worship Me here at Mount Sinai or Horeb. Listen folks when God speaks matter of factly about an assignment, we can bank on it.As I was studying this lesson I came up with this statement for verse 12 The assurances of God’s word concerning our lives. The Moses has doubt. 13 Moses said to God, “Suppose I go to the Israelites and say to them, ‘The God of your fathers has sent me to you,’ and they ask me, ‘What is his name?’ Then what shall I tell them?” Brothers and sisters this sounds like fear looks like fear and smell like fear. And Fear oftentimes surfaces when we see our inadequacies with out looking at God’s adequacy. God can do anything but fail. And it behooves us to remember that. Life gets hard sometimes .Life gets unbearable sometimes. Life seems impossible sometimes, Oh But God!! God can handle everything, not anything but everything.

So God answers Moses in verses 14 God said to Moses, “I AM WHO I AM. This is what you are to say to the Israelites: ‘I AM has sent me to you.’ ” 15 God also said to Moses, “Say to the Israelites, ‘The LORD, the God of your fathers—the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac and the God of Jacob—has sent me to you.’ This is my name forever, the name by which I am to be remembered from generation to generation. God answers Moses question of doubt and fear. Have you ever doubted your abilities and have you ever underestimated your potential? We all have at one time or another 2x but if you’ll just find the faith then God will funnel you into a future that won’t fizzle before the finish. God told Moses the iconic words Tell them I AM THAT I AM. Tell them I Am God all by myself and I don’t need no help I Am God and I can and will deliver them I Am the God of their fathers the God of Abraham Isaac and Jacob.

Tell them that!!! And Moses they are going to believe you.16 “Go, assemble the elders of Israel and say to them, ‘The LORD, the God of your fathers—the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob— appeared to me and said: I have watched over you and have seen what has been done to you in Egypt. 17 And I have promised to bring you up out of your misery in Egypt into the land of the Canaanites, Hittites, Amorites, Perizzites, Hivites and Jebusites—a land flowing with milk and honey.’ And to the young preacher sometimes you’ve got to say the hard things to the congregation because in order for them to get better and be delivered they have to hear a word from God and Moses! you can’t be scared to tell them. And if they have a reasonable mind, they’ll listen 18 “The elders of Israel will listen to you. Then you and the elders are to go to the king of Egypt and say to him, ‘The LORD, the God of the Hebrews, has met with us. Let us take a three-day journey into the desert to offer sacrifices to the LORD our God.’ 19 But I know that the king of Egypt will not let you go unless a mighty hand compels him. 20 So I will stretch out my hand and strike the Egyptians with all the wonders that I will perform among them. After that, he will let you go. I’m just about through but God’s words sounds like He’s getting ready to create a set up for Pharaoh The Ten plagues of Egypt..... Bom ba bum bom!

last verse 21 “And I will make the Egyptians favorably disposed toward this people, so that when you leave you will not go empty-handed. 22 Every woman is to ask her neighbor and any woman living in her house for articles of silver and gold and for clothing, which you will put on your sons and daughters. And so you will plunder the Egyptians.”
