The main focus of this chapter is God’s continued fulfilment of His promises to Abraham, so let us keep that in mind. But this chapter offers use a wonderful example of how to discern the will of God.
Interestingly, Goldingay notes, “Genesis 24 is also the only detailed account of an ‘ordinary’ person’s personal relationship with God...” (Genesis, 376)

STEPS TO DETERMINE THE WILL OF GOD
Know the Word of God because His will will never violate it.
Understand that prayer helps us discern the will of God.
Be careful in discerning perceived answers to prayer.
