In this sermon we consider the words of Christ to the church in Sardis. Much like the modern day church, the church in Sardis sought to have a high reputation among men, but did not seek the glory that comes from God. They were filled with apathy towards the things of God, & therefore Jesus rebuked them as being “asleep.” Christ calls this church & anyone in this state of spiritual slumber, to wake up, & remember the Gospel by which we are called to offer up our whole selves to the whole Christ!
