Intro

Luke 19:9–10 NKJV
9 And Jesus said to him, “Today salvation has come to this house, because he also is a son of Abraham; 10 for the Son of Man has come to seek and to save that which was lost.”
Zacchaeus was a man who had heard about Jesus.
He heard that there was one who changed people.
Luke 19:3–4 NKJV
3 And he sought to see who Jesus was, but could not because of the crowd, for he was of short stature. 4 So he ran ahead and climbed up into a sycamore tree to see Him, for He was going to pass that way.
Jesus takes notice of him
Luke 19:5 NKJV
5 And when Jesus came to the place, He looked up and saw him, and said to him, “Zacchaeus, make haste and come down, for today I must stay at your house.”
Today Salvation has come to your house.

What is Salvation?

Jesus is salvation!!!!
The Hebrew word translated for save or salvation is Yeshua.... which is Jesus’ name.
Salvation is a rescue from two things.
From this world and its attachment to sin which lead you to the second thing ..... HELL
HELL
God created a rescue plan for those - that plan is Salvation = YESHUA = JESUS
Luke 19:10 NKJV
10 for the Son of Man has come to seek and to save that which was lost.”
WHy becasue
Ezekiel 18:32 NKJV
32 For I have no pleasure in the death of one who dies,” says the Lord God. “Therefore turn and live!”
God loved you so much and knew you were heading in the wrong direction.....
He provided a plan
John 3:16 NKJV
16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.
God wants to rescue
Ephesians 2:8–9 NKJV
8 For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, 9 not of works, lest anyone should boast.
There no other rescuer
Acts 4:12 NKJV
12 Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.”

What do we do with this free gift?

It is the free gift of entry to the Kingdom of Heaven.
Matthew 13:44 NKJV
44 “Again, the kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a field, which a man found and hid; and for joy over it he goes and sells all that he has and buys that field.
This man found a treasure while taking a hike thru the forest and what he found was so amazing that he gave everything he had and then some to purchase that territory.
This symbolizes salvation, you give everything for it because it is so amazing.
Mark 8:34 NKJV
34 When He had called the people to Himself, with His disciples also, He said to them, “Whoever desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me.
Deny Yourself the pleasures you wants allowed
Pick up your cross speaks of having to go through some type of rejection.
FOLLOW ME
John 8:12 NKJV
12 Then Jesus spoke to them again, saying, “I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life.”
We will by guided thru this dark world.
John 10:27 NKJV
27 My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me.
And He will know them.......
To be known by God is powerful.
You see there will come a point where we will stand before God and He will say whether He knows us or not.
2 Timothy 2:19 NKJV
19 Nevertheless the solid foundation of God stands, having this seal: “The Lord knows those who are His,” and, “Let everyone who names the name of Christ depart from iniquity.”

Can We Lose it?

He also knows those who are not His
Matthew 7:21–23 NKJV
21 “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. 22 Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’ 23 And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’
The gift of salvation is free, what you do with it, is up to you.
A judge one day was ready to sentence to death a prisoner.
That prisoner had done many things to break many laws in that county.
There was no other tactic that the lawyer could do to bail him out of this one.
He was crying, in chains and broken about what he was ready to face.
BUT IN WALKS JESUS!!!!!!!
I WILL TAKE HIS DEATH SENTENCE!!!!!!
Judge says, but you are innocent!
You are not even family, why!!!!
Because MY FATHER LOVES HIM SO MUCH!!!!!
The prisoner is set free from his death sentence.
What he does next is up to him.
He can go and live a life worthy of Him who gave His life for him.
Or he can disregard that and say.... Im free, let me go back to my old ways.... I got a second chance.
WHAT DO YOU DO WITH THAT SECOND CHANCE???
1 Timothy 4:16
16 Watch your life and doctrine closely. Persevere in them, because if you do, you will save both yourself and your hearers.
The bible tells us
Revelation 3:11 NKJV
11 Behold, I am coming quickly! Hold fast what you have, that no one may take your crown.
Hold fast.... means to fix your attention on, be alert. hold firmly.
You don’t want to lose your crown, and be left outside.
The bible tells the story of 10 brides maids
Matthew 25:1–13 NIV
1 “At that time the kingdom of heaven will be like ten virgins who took their lamps and went out to meet the bridegroom. 2 Five of them were foolish and five were wise. 3 The foolish ones took their lamps but did not take any oil with them. 4 The wise ones, however, took oil in jars along with their lamps. 5 The bridegroom was a long time in coming, and they all became drowsy and fell asleep. 6 “At midnight the cry rang out: ‘Here’s the bridegroom! Come out to meet him!’ 7 “Then all the virgins woke up and trimmed their lamps. 8 The foolish ones said to the wise, ‘Give us some of your oil; our lamps are going out.’ 9 “ ‘No,’ they replied, ‘there may not be enough for both us and you. Instead, go to those who sell oil and buy some for yourselves.’ 10 “But while they were on their way to buy the oil, the bridegroom arrived. The virgins who were ready went in with him to the wedding banquet. And the door was shut. 11 “Later the others also came. ‘Lord, Lord,’ they said, ‘open the door for us!’ 12 “But he replied, ‘Truly I tell you, I don’t know you.’ 13 “Therefore keep watch, because you do not know the day or the hour.
Hebrews 2:1 NKJV
1 Therefore we must give the more earnest heed to the things we have heard, lest we drift away.
