Ephesians 2:20–22 (ESV)
20 built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Christ Jesus himself being the cornerstone, 21 in whom the whole structure, being joined together, grows into a holy temple in the Lord. 22 In him you also are being built together into a dwelling place for God by the Spirit.
SVCC is built by God, upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, and with Christ Jesus as the cornerstone.
We are joined together by union with Christ, we are growing, and we are a dwelling place of God by his Spirit.

INTRODUCTION:
Review: Seasons of Life
“here’s the deal”
Isaiah 42:9 ESV
9 Behold, the former things have come to pass, and new things I now declare; before they spring forth I tell you of them.”
Context: The Servant of the Lord
Praying and Discerning the Seasons of God...Will you join me in praying for God to prepare us for a new season…new wineskins/KAINOS?
Be ready for the divine shift from chronos to karios
As we pray for God to shift the seasons and bring about a divine moment we are asking Him to turn opposition into opportunity.
WHY?…
TODAY: TURN, TURN, TURN
Opening Scripture:
Ecclesiastes 3:1–8 ESV
1 For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven: 2 a time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up what is planted; 3 a time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up; 4 a time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance; 5 a time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing; 6 a time to seek, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast away; 7 a time to tear, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak; 8 a time to love, and a time to hate; a time for war, and a time for peace.

God makes everything fit in its time.

These are not primarily exhortations but descriptions.
Most of us when presented with each pair would prefer one description over another.
Notice the random order…the preferred option is not necessarily always in the same spot (ex: Ecc. 3:3 3 a time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up;” cf. Ecc. 3:8 “8 a time to love, and a time to hate; a time for war, and a time for peace.” )
These are just realities of life.
We move from realities of life to the exhortation to TURN!
The last line in Ecc. 3:8 “8 a time to love (VERB), and a time to hate (VERB); a time for war (NOUN), and a time for peace (NOUN). does not contain two verbs like the others but two nouns as if the author says “Turn.”
Song: Turn, Turn, Turn by Pete Seeger and made famous by the Byrds
Slight rearrangement of Ecc. 3 with additions: “Turn, Turn, Turn” and “I swear it’s not to late”
***Water Baptism symbolizes our turning
Acts 2:38 ESV
38 And Peter said to them, “Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.

God’s timing is beautiful.

Ecclesiastes 3:9–15 ESV
9 What gain has the worker from his toil? 10 I have seen the business that God has given to the children of man to be busy with. 11 He has made everything beautiful in its time. Also, he has put eternity into man’s heart, yet so that he cannot find out what God has done from the beginning to the end. 12 I perceived that there is nothing better for them than to be joyful and to do good as long as they live; 13 also that everyone should eat and drink and take pleasure in all his toil—this is God’s gift to man. 14 I perceived that whatever God does endures forever; nothing can be added to it, nor anything taken from it. God has done it, so that people fear before him. 15 That which is, already has been; that which is to be, already has been; and God seeks what has been driven away.
v. 11a “Everything beautiful in its time”
v. 11b We yearn to understand the big picture (i.e. “eternity/forever”) but cannot comprehend it…Do we trust God although we cannot comprehend the big picture?
Conclusion/Reflection:

God knows the big picture and we can trust Him!

Ephesians 2:10 ESV
10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.

God can be trusted with our pasts!

Ecclesiastes 3:15 ESV
15 That which is, already has been; that which is to be, already has been; and God seeks what has been driven away.
OPTIONAL:
BRINLEY HILLARD - Armor of God
Ephesians 6:10–18 ESV
10 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might. 11 Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil. 12 For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places. 13 Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand firm. 14 Stand therefore, having fastened on the belt of truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness, 15 and, as shoes for your feet, having put on the readiness given by the gospel of peace. 16 In all circumstances take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming darts of the evil one; 17 and take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God, 18 praying at all times in the Spirit, with all prayer and supplication. To that end, keep alert with all perseverance, making supplication for all the saints,
God’s Timing for Your Life Be Ready When the Divine Shift Comes

We must guard against lethargy, complacency and unbelief.
