Welcome

Good morning and welcome church. My name is Miguel and I am the worship director for the English ministry at IBH, in torrance. Thank you so much for having me today and trusting me as I trust God for His word. Today we will be in several portions of scripture in order to paint a complete picture. A picture of who christ is and why we need him.

Prophet

Today I wasnt to try and help you put together a picture of Jesus the Christ. There is this common belief in the Christian called the threefold office of christ. It’s basically a fancy way of saying that in Jesus earthly ministry he fulfilled the office or position of Prophet, priest and King. There is so much more to him than the this doctrine of the threefold office, but any subject worth studying is a life long endeavour. This is one of the reasons why theology was widely known as the “queen of the sciences” in the Middle ages and beyond. But it’s important to note that we have a complete and whole savior.
Firstly, Jesus is our prophet. A prophet is generally known as a mouthpiece of God. In other words, they are an intermediary between God and man. Old Testament prophets spoke for God, in the name of God, and carried God's message to others. And more precisely, the prophet is God’s representative before His people. Prophets either foretold, like telling the future, or toldforth, like telling a secret.
Jesus foretold
Jesus fulfills this role by not just speaking God’s word, but being the word.
John 1:1–2 ESV
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God.
So as Jesus spoke, the voice of God was being heard. As he taught
