The title of Christ in Greek is “christos” and it is given to the one who was to be divinely anointed by God to be the Messiah or Savior of God’s people.
What Did it Mean to be Anointed?
Anointing symbolized God’s calling and being equipped by His spirit. Jesus was divinely anointed and equipped to save people from their sins. We were on a highway to Hell..... but God.
