I. The Seed That Didn’t Make It vs. 3-4, 18-19

A. Some will hear the gospel, but be distracted by various things.
B. These people are the one’s who will say they know all about that, but it’s not for them, or for at least right now. As long as everything is going good, they don’t care, but we all know life doesn’t always go good all the time.

II. Rocky Soil vs. 5, 20-21

A. These are those who “believe” and do well, until the going gets tough. Covid revealed a lot of people like these.
B. These people had religion, not a relationship. They will be good until life goes sour, and they don’t come back again. I John 2:19
1 John 2:19 NASB95
They went out from us, but they were not really of us; for if they had been of us, they would have remained with us; but they went out, so that it would be shown that they all are not of us.

III. Thorny Soil vs. 6, 22

A. These are the ones who will agree with the “gospel” until they have to change. They are always too busy for God.
B. These can be fine people, but no on is good enough, although they think they are. They will give every excuse in the book. Rom. 3:10-12
Romans 3:10–12 NASB95
as it is written, There is none righteous, not even one; There is none who understands, There is none who seeks for God; All have turned aside, together they have become useless; There is none who does good, There is not even one.”

IV. Good Soil vs. 7-9, 23

A. These are the ones who realize they can’t do it themselves, only Jesus can save!
B. Then Jesus produces fruit in their life in direct proportion to how surrendered you are to Him.
