1 Corinthians 6:9–11 ESV
9 Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor men who practice homosexuality, 10 nor thieves, nor the greedy, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God. 11 And such were some of you. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God.
Introduction

Exclusion

1 Corinthians 6:9 (ESV)
9 Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God?

There is no universal admission into the Kingdom of God.

Matthew 7:13–14 (NIV)
13 “Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it.
14 But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it.

Eternal life is not a hall pass that God bestows indiscriminately.

John 3:3 (ESV)
3 Jesus answered him, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born again he cannot see the kingdom of God.”

Inclusion in the kingdom is exclusively for the redeemed.

Deception

Deceived - πλανάω - to cause someone to hold a wrong view...
Everything in our culture is working to mislead people about who gets to enter the kingdom.
Are we going to listen to our culture?
Or are we going to listen to the bible?

You don’t get to live life your way and go to God’s heaven.

A new life in Christ always leads to a new life style.

Right living flows from a redeemed heart.

A Godless life flows from a Godless heart.
1 Corinthians 6:9–10 (ESV)
9 neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor men who practice homosexuality,
10 nor thieves, nor the greedy, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God.

Does my lifestyle give evidence that I have life in Christ?

Is it possible that I have been deceived about my own spiritual condition?

Is there a spiritual pivot point in my life where everything changed?

1 Corinthians 6:11 (ESV)
11 And such were some of you. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God.
