Our Fondness of Honor - Ambition
Persuading Other Concerning the Truth
We Will All Stand Before the Reward Seat of Christ
Pay Attention to How You Build
Astounded, to God, A Saved Frame of Mind to You, 2 Corinthians 5:13
Astounded, to God, A Saved Frame of Mind to You, 2 Corinthians 5:13
2 Corinthians 5:13
For whether we are astounded, to God, or whether we are of sound mind, to you.
Astounded - To Stand Out From
The Devout Jews in Jerusalem Hearing the Galileans Speak in Their Dialect, Acts 2:7
They were amazed and astonished, saying, “Why, are not all these who are speaking Galileans?
Simon the Magician astounding the people of Samaria, Acts 8:9
Now there was a man named Simon, who formerly was practicing magic in the city and astonishing the people of Samaria, claiming to be someone great;
Simon the Magician’s Seeing the Signs and Wonders Phillip Did in Samaria, Acts 8:13
Even Simon himself believed; and after being baptized, he continued on with Philip, and as he observed signs and great miracles taking place, he was constantly amazed.
The Jews with Peter At Cornelius’ House, Acts 10:45
All the circumcised believers who came with Peter were amazed, because the gift of the Holy Spirit had been poured out on the Gentiles also.
Peter Knocking at the Door of Mary’s House, Acts 12:16
But Peter continued knocking; and when they had opened the door, they saw him and were amazed.
Astounded Is Primarily Used in the Gospels and the Book of Acts
Being Astounded is a feeling or showing of great surprise or wonder
Does not mean to be out of one’s mind
The Jews Concerning Jesus Being Insane, John 10:19-21
A division occurred again among the Jews because of these words.
Many of them were saying, “He has a demon and is insane. Why do you listen to Him?”
Others were saying, “These are not the sayings of one demon-possessed. A demon cannot open the eyes of the blind, can he?”
Paul Speaking Truth to Festus, Acts 26:24-25
While Paul was saying this in his defense, Festus said in a loud voice, “Paul, you are out of your mind! Your great learning is driving you mad.”
But Paul said, “I am not out of my mind, most excellent Festus, but I utter words of sober truth.
Seeing Something that Blows the Mind
Our Astonishment is Towards God
Towards Others, Having a Sound Frame of Mind, 2 Corinthians 5:13
2 Corinthians 5:13
… or whether we are of sound mind, to you.
Having a Saved Frame of Mind
Young Men are to Have a Saved Frame of Mind, Titus 2:6-8
Likewise urge the young men to be sensible;
in all things show yourself to be an example of good deeds, with purity in doctrine, dignified,
sound in speech which is beyond reproach, so that the opponent will be put to shame, having nothing bad to say about us.
The End is Near So We All Should Have A Saved Frame of Mind, 1 Peter 4:7
The end of all things is near; therefore, be of sound judgment and sober spirit for the purpose of prayer.
The Framing of the Mind is What Boundaries We Set On Our Mind
We Are to Frame Our Minds on The Things Above, Colossians 3:1-2
Therefore if you have been raised up with Christ, keep seeking the things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God.
Set your mind on the things above, not on the things that are on earth.
Not Having a High Frame of Mind Concerning Yourself, Romans 12:3
For through the grace given to me I say to everyone among you not to think more highly of himself than he ought to think; but to think so as to have sound judgment, as God has allotted to each a measure of faith.
Having the Same Frame of Mind as Christ, Philippians 2:5-8
Have this attitude in yourselves which was also in Christ Jesus,
who, although He existed in the form of God, did not regard equality with God a thing to be grasped,
but emptied Himself, taking the form of a bond-servant, and being made in the likeness of men.
Being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross.
What Paul is Expressing to Us is Not Astounding, For With the Holy Spirit We Can Understand
Christ Died Once For All, 2 Corinthians 5:14-16
Christ Died Once For All, 2 Corinthians 5:14-16
The Love of The Christ Holds Us, 2 Corinthians 5:14
2 Corinthians 5:14
For the love of the Christ holds us, having judged this, because one concerning all died, then all were dead.
It is the Love for the Church that Holds Paul
Paul Holding Himself to Only the Word, Acts 18:5
But when Silas and Timothy came down from Macedonia, Paul began devoting himself completely to the word, solemnly testifying to the Jews that Jesus was the Christ.
Paul Held by Two Options, Philippians 1:23
But I am hard-pressed from both directions, having the desire to depart and be with Christ, for that is very much better;
Christ Died Once for All
This Means all Were Dead
Adam’s Sin Brought Death to All, Romans 5:12-14
Therefore, just as through one man sin entered into the world, and death through sin, and so death spread to all men, because all sinned—
for until the Law sin was in the world, but sin is not imputed when there is no law.
Nevertheless death reigned from Adam until Moses, even over those who had not sinned in the likeness of the offense of Adam, who is a type of Him who was to come.
Both Physical and Spiritual Death, Romans 5:17
For if by the transgression of the one, death reigned through the one, much more those who receive the abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness will reign in life through the One, Jesus Christ.
Those Who Now Live Should Live Unto Christ, 2 Corinthians 5:15
and He died for all, so that they who live might no longer live for themselves, but for Him who died and rose again on their behalf.
Christ died to Sin once for All, But Now He Lives to God, Romans 6:10
For the death that He died, He died to sin once for all; but the life that He lives, He lives to God.
We are to Consider (Reckon) Ourselves Dead to Sin and Alive to God, Romans 6:11
Even so consider yourselves to be dead to sin, but alive to God in Christ Jesus.
Presenting Our Members to Righteousness as Those Alive Out From the Dead, Romans 6:13
and do not go on presenting the members of your body to sin as instruments of unrighteousness; but present yourselves to God as those alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness to God.
We Are Alive Apart From Law, Romans 7:9
I was once alive apart from the Law; but when the commandment came, sin became alive and I died;
It is No Longer I Who Live, But Christ Who Lives in Me, Galatians 2:20
“I have been crucified with Christ; and it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself up for me.
No Longer Intuitively Knowing Anyone According to the Flesh, 2 Corinthians 5:16
2 Corinthians 5:16
So that we from now intuitively know no one according to flesh, since also we have experientially known Christ according to flesh, but now we do not experientially know
A New Creation; the Christ, 2 Corinthians 5:17
A New Creation; the Christ, 2 Corinthians 5:17
The Christ is a New Creation, 2 Corinthians 5:17
2 Corinthians 5:17
So that since someone is in Christ, a new creation, the archaic things have passed away, look with discernment, all things have become new.
Christ is the Head and the Church is the Body, Ephesians 1:22-23
And He put all things in subjection under His feet, and gave Him as head over all things to the church,
which is His body, the fullness of Him who fills all in all.
We Are All Part of One Body, 1 Corinthians 12:12
For even as the body is one and yet has many members, and all the members of the body, though they are many, are one body, so also is Christ.
We Do Not Become Something Different, We Are Now Apart of Something New
In Christ there is No Condemnation, Romans 8:1
Therefore there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.
In Christ We are Free - Not Under Law, but Able to Mature, Galatians 5:1
It was for freedom that Christ set us free; therefore keep standing firm and do not be subject again to a yoke of slavery.
We Are Alive to God in Christ
Dead In Adam, Alive in Christ
Adam Passed Physical Death to All, Romans 5:12-15
Therefore, just as through one man sin entered into the world, and death through sin, and so death spread to all men, because all sinned—
for until the Law sin was in the world, but sin is not imputed when there is no law.
Nevertheless death reigned from Adam until Moses, even over those who had not sinned in the likeness of the offense of Adam, who is a type of Him who was to come.
But the free gift is not like the transgression. For if by the transgression of the one the many died, much more did the grace of God and the gift by the grace of the one Man, Jesus Christ, abound to the many.
We Are Born in the Likeness of Adam After His Fall, Genesis 5:2-3
He created them male and female, and He blessed them and named them Man in the day when they were created.
When Adam had lived one hundred and thirty years, he became the father of a son in his own likeness, according to his image, and named him Seth.
Adam Passed on Spiritual Death to All, Romans 5:17
For if by the transgression of the one, death reigned through the one, much more those who receive the abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness will reign in life through the One, Jesus Christ.
We Are Not Individual Creations
Only Adam was Created, Eve Was Made From Adam, Genesis 2:22
The Lord God fashioned into a woman the rib which He had taken from the man, and brought her to the man.
The First Adam and the Last Adam. 1 Corinthians 15:45
So also it is written, “The first man, Adam, became a living soul.” The last Adam became a life-giving spirit.

2 Corinthians 5:14–16
