God’s Kingdom a seed P5
We've look at the productive sea
Know we are going to look at the hearing seed
Hearing the seed
Last time
Mark 4:21-25
The lamp that was made to shine
We are the lamps know according to Matthew 5:14-15 (read it)
Matthew 13:19 - having understanding is one of the ways of stopping the enemy from taking your seed
Know Mark is going to give us another way
Mark 4:23
In Mark ch 4 we’ve got two kingdom at work
The productive kingdom
And the unproductive
Pop quize
which kingdom dose God want you in ?
what kingdom dose the Enemy want you in ?
What is the difference between them - Mark 4:23 If anyone has ears to hear, let him hear.”
like Jesus My sheep her my voice and what and what they follower
John 10:27
look what Jesus said right after he gave the parable
of the two kings Mark 4:9
Then Mark mentions it her right after the lamps the gives light
Jesus gave his message to all
(why put in a parable)
1) Jesus heals a men on a bed and say your sin are Forgiven (mark 2:7-9 )
This got the Pharisees really upset and and became angry at him and took him to top it off hell
eats with sinner
2) from that he goes into the synagogue and heals a men and it starts all over
look what they said in Mark 3:1-5 (Make mention of v.6)
(again they wanted to kill him) They wanted to kill him for healing
but look what Jesus did (v.7)
In the mised of this some people wanted to hear Jesus followed him
So how was he going to teach them without the Pharisees
hearing it or understanding it
Mark 4:10-12
He put it in away that only they will her
Mark 4:23
If anyone has ears to hear is a call for discernment on the part of the hearer to understand Jesus’ secret
Jesus then exhorts the hearer to consider carefully
what you hear
That the other Point Mark makes
Mark 4:24
Then He said to them, “Take heed what you hear.
With the same measure you use
it will be measured to you
and to you who hear, more will be given.
talking about what you do with the word - to you who hear, more will be given.
this whole chapter is on God’s word
where it Goes - in our hearts not brain v.15
what we do with it - plan it (sow it)
How we get to understand it - The holy spirits help John 14:26
what |God wants us to do with - v.20 Hear - accept - bear
Rev 2:7-11-17 - 29
Rev 3:6-13-22
“He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.
The longest speech in Mark is ch7:6-16 but let’s look how he end that speech v.16
If anyone has ears to hear, let him hear!”
this a quote from
Isaiah 29:13
Let’s look at what Isaiah was saying about this
Isaiah 29:1
How he start it Woe
It’s spelt WOE - but I think of Whoa
And it’s
-: like a horse command to stop
-: or used in Amusement or surprise
Side note - Ariel means Lion of Judah
It’s a name they gave them self it didn’t come from God
Ch 28 The The Jews ere intoxicated with alcohol - and this caused them not to be able to see
Look at v.9 (that’s Isaiah 29:9
Isaiah is saying that the voice is clouded and they are spiritually dumb they have a spiritual hangover
Look at V.11 this is where it fits into Mark 4:22
This is what God is saying to them
V.12 illiterate - unable to read
Know v.13 our verse
V.18 Notice the words shall hear
Not could
Maybe
Perhaps
But shall hear
Let me sum up all this
Mark 4:23
V.23 it’s not a request put more of an order
1) Let him hear
Because God wants to speak directly to you and he speaks in a still small voice
( 1 Kings 19:12) your heart can hear
There are two kingdoms operating
-: The productive kingdom
-: And the unproductive
And what sets them apart
Those who hear v.23
V.24 Take heed
“And to you who hear, more will be given”
