Luke 15:11-24 (ilocano)

Sinarita pay ni Jesus daytoy: “Adda idi tao nga addaan iti dua nga annak a lallaki. 12Kinuna ti inaudi iti amana, ‘Ama, itedmon ti tawidko.’ Biningay ngarud ti ama ti sanikuana kadagiti dua nga annakna. 13Kalpasan ti sumagmamano nga aldaw, inlako ti inaudi ti bingayna, ket innalana ti naglakoanna sa pimmanaw. Napan iti adayo a daga ket sadiay binusbosna amin a kuartana iti nabarayuboy a panagbiag. 14Idi nagastonan amin a kuartana, dimteng ti nakaro a bisin iti dayta a daga ket pulos nga awan nabatin kenkuana. 15Iti kasta, napan nagtrabaho iti maysa kadagiti umili sadiay a nangibaon kenkuana iti away tapno agtaraken kadagiti baboy. 16Kayatna ti mangan iti kankanen dagiti baboy, ngem awan nangted kenkuana! 17Idi makapanunot met laeng, kinunana, ‘Agsobsobraan iti kanen dagiti amin a mangmangged idiay balay ni amak, ket addaak ditoy a matmatay iti bisin! 18Pumanawak ketdi ket agsubliak ken ni amak. Ama, kunakto, nagbasolak iti Dios, kasta met kenka. 19Diak maikarin a maawagan nga anakmo. Ibilangnak kadi a kas maysa kadagiti tangtangdanam.’ 20Pimmanaw ngarud sadiay ket nagrubbuat nga agsubli ken amana.
“Adayo pay laeng iti balayda idi makita ni amana. Naasian ti ama ket timmaray a simmabat iti anakna. Inapungolna sana inagkan. 21‘Ama,’ kinuna ti anak, ‘nagbasolak iti Dios, kasta met kenka. Diak maikarin a maawagan nga anakmo.’ 22Ngem inayaban ti ama dagiti katulonganna. ‘Darasenyo!’ kinunana. ‘Alaenyo ti kasayaatan a bado ket ikawesyo kenkuana. Singsingan ken sapatosanyo. 23Inkay alaen ti napalukmeg a baka ket partienyo. Agrambaktayo! 24Ta natay daytoy nga anakko, ngem nagungar. Napukaw ngem nasapulan met laeng.’ Ket nangrugin ti ramrambak.
Luke 15:11-24
(English Standard Version)
11 And he said, “There was a man who had two sons. 12 And the younger of them said to his father, ‘Father, give me the share of property that is coming to me.’ And he divided his property between them. 13 Not many days later, the younger son gathered all he had and took a journey into a far country, and there he squandered his property in reckless living. 14 And when he had spent everything, a severe famine arose in that country, and he began to be in need. 15 So he went and hired himself out to[a] one of the citizens of that country, who sent him into his fields to feed pigs.16 And he was longing to be fed with the pods that the pigs ate, and no one gave him anything.
17 “But when he came to himself, he said, ‘How many of my father's hired servants have more than enough bread, but I perish here with hunger!18 I will arise and go to my father, and I will say to him, “Father, I have sinned against heaven and before you. 19 I am no longer worthy to be called your son. Treat me as one of your hired servants.”’ 20 And he arose and came to his father. But while he was still a long way off, his father saw him and felt compassion, and ran and embraced him and kissed him. 21 And the son said to him, ‘Father, I have sinned against heaven and before you. I am no longer worthy to be called your son.’[b] 22 But the father said to his servants,[c] ‘Bring quickly the best robe, and put it on him, and put a ring on his hand, and shoes on his feet. 23 And bring the fattened calf and kill it, and let us eat and celebrate. 24 For this my son was dead, and is alive again; he was lost, and is found.’ And they began to celebrate.
Body of the sermon:
For all have sin and fall short of the glory of God that all men must return back to the Lord and repent of all sins.
In this parable we will see the trajectory or path of every men and women from the very beginning of time. Simply, we will see how every single human being being corrupted by sin. The man in the story
1. Totally deprave (human nature as totally corrupt and sinful; v.12)
-in this particular story, the younger son have no respect to his father. Commandment number 4 states, honor your father and your mother
-he did not only violate this commandment for James 2:10 states that “whoever keeps the whole lase and yet stumbles in one point, he has become guilty of all.” To prove this, is our next point.
2. Living wastefully (v.13)
-living wastefully is synonymous with being a prodigal. He squandeered everything.
3. Pride in himself (v.14-16)
-All unbelievers are like this. Their pride wants them to prove that they can make things better on themselves.
-Sadly some believers too, we tend to trust in our selves. God does not like this. Because, God gave grace to the humble, and He rejects the proud.
4. Realization (v.17)
5. Repentance (v.18-21)
-the greatest moment that can happen to us. The moment that we are truly repentant.
6. Rejoicing (v.22-23)
7. Summary (v.24)
-cf. Ephesians 2:1-3 “And you were dead in your trespasses and sins, in which you formerly walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, of the spirit that is now working in the sons of disobedience. Among them we too all formerly lived in the lusts of our flesh, indulging the desires of the flesh and of the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, even as the rest.”
-cf. Ephesians 2:4 “But God, being rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us,”
v.24 “For this my son was dead, and is alive again; he was lost, and is found.”
i just hope that more and more people will have this complete trajectory. Why I said complete? Because a lot of people stay being lost for the rest of their lives. They never came to a realization that they need forgiveness from God like the man in our story.
Repent and believe in the Lord while there is still time. Isaiah 55:6 “Seek the Lord while He may be found; Call upon Him while He is near.”
Let us pray.
