Steadfastness

The capacity to hold out or bear up in the face of difficulty (BDAG)

Stand your ground

Stay the course even in adversity.

James 1:4 “4 And let endurance have its perfect result, so that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing.”

What might we lack if it where not for God’s Power.

Patience

State of remaining tranquil while awaiting an outcome.

Tranquil = free from disturbance.

Able to stay the course without disturbance in the middle of disturbance.

Joyously giving thanks.

Joyously = The experience of gladness.

The power to joyously give thanks even in the difficult times.

Ephesians 1:19-20 “19 and what is the surpassing greatness of His power toward us who believe.

These are in accordance with the working of the strength of His might 20 which He brought about in Christ, when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly places,”

2 Corinthians 12:9 “9 And He has said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for power is perfected in weakness.”

King of Aram surrounded Elisha - Elisha been telling Israel the moves of the king of aram.

Protection

Elisha Sleeping

He knew he was protected.

Rested among the enemy.

He covers us with His feathers.

Provision

2 Corinthians 9:8 “8 And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that always having all sufficiency in everything, you may have an abundance for every good deed;”

God provides for us to do His work.

2 Peter 1:3 “3 seeing that His divine power has granted to us everything pertaining to life and godliness, through the true knowledge of Him who called us by His own glory and excellence.”

The difference between God and the devil

How to get all that God has for you.

Matthew 6:33 “33 “But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.”

What will be added?

Jesus told them in the Sermon on the Mountain not to worry about: (verse 31)

What they will eat

What they will drink

What they will wear for clothing

And not to worry about tomorrow.
