LCC CORE VALUES
MISSION
In Ranked Order
Lancaster Christian Church exists
to show people how to follow Jesus every day.
(Matthew 28:18-20; Luke 9:23)
1. Biblical Authority
We hold a high view of Scripture and accept its final
authority in the life and practice of the church. In matters of faith,
we are unified. (Leviticus 18:4; Psalm 119:160; Luke 9:11; Acts
17:11; Romans 8:7; 10:3; 15:4; 1 Corinthians 15:3-4; 1 Timothy
4:13; 2 Timothy 3:14-17; James 4:7; 2 Peter 1:20-21)
2. Prayerful Dependence
We seek God in all things. We ask God to do His work in
transforming lives by His Spirit. We also depend on God for ample
resources of people, facilities, and finances to fulfill our mission
and vision. (Nehemiah 1:1-2:8; Psalm 105:1-4; Matthew 6:5-13;
Luke 5:16; 11:1-4; Acts 1:14; 6:4; Romans 9:16; 12:12; etc.)
3. Excellent Ministry
We do all things well to give God glory. We give God our
first and our best, not our leftovers. What we do, we do well. All
members are equipped for service according to the gifts God has
given them. (Nehemiah 10:35; Proverbs 3:9; Romans 12:1;
1 Corinthians 10:31; Ephesians 4:11-16; Hebrews 13:20-21)
4. Growth Environments
We create healthy environments through relationships and
programs to encourage and nurture holistic spiritual growth. We
treat all people with love as they are made in God’s image and
need redeemed by Christ’s work. (Genesis 1:26-27; Ezra 7:10;
Nehemiah 8-10; Mark 12:32-34; 2 Corinthians 3:18; Galatians
5:22-6:10; Colossians 1:9-14, 28; 3:10-17; 2 Timothy 3:14-17)
5. Kingdom Collaboration
We work with other churches and Christian organizations
to accomplish our mission. We also do this to demonstrate our
unity in Christ and the truth. Though we are not the only Christians,
we are Christians only. (John 17:17-23; Philippians 1:27; 2:2)
VISION
We are a holy people who
study God’s word,
submit to God’s will, and
serve in the church and the world.
Each member participates every week
in one hour of group study,
one hour of corporate worship, and
one hour of service (in the church or to the world).
(Mark 12:33; Acts 17:10-12; 1 Corinthians 1:2; 1 Peter 2:9-10)
CONGREGATIONAL GOAL
24x24
By January 1, 2024, we will have 24 new or reactivated members
who live our mission and demonstrate significant progress
in exhibiting our vision and values.
