God Dwells In Us Through The Holy Spirit

Led By the Spirit - Son of God

Romans 8:14–17 (NKJV) 14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God. 15 For you did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out, “Abba, Father.” 16 The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God, 17 and if children, then heirs—heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with Him, that we may also be glorified together.

The Holy Spirit Was Sent To Lead Us- There is a voice within us that is wanting to lead us

Leading us to be Sons of God --- Heirs of God

The Holy Spirit is leading us to a our true position, purpose and inheritance

John 14: 26 Nkjv But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you.

Remebrance- to put in mind, be reminded, call to mind, call to attention

Forget - To loose out of the mind-Implying Through Neglect

Holy Spirit Reminds Us Of What Jesus Had Said- What has He said that you have forgotten

Forgetting Who You Are -James 1:23–24 (NIV)23 Anyone who listens to the word but does not do what it says is like someone who looks at his face in a mirror 24 and, after looking at himself, goes away and immediately forgets what he looks like.

Forget because

-Only surface deep- Seed Sower

-Distraction

-Enemy Steals It

Doing Is Connected To Remebering-

Divine Purpose- You Are The Light- Represent God- Have The Answer- Commanded To Love Fellow Man

Remember Jesus Thru Communion Luke 22:19 (NIV) 19 And he took bread, gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to them, saying, “This is my body given for you; do this in remembrance of me.”

God Designed Us To Store Information To Remember- Most available evidence suggests that the functions of memory are carried out by the hippocampus and other related structures in the temporal lobe.

Memory recall or retrieval is remembering the information or events that were previously encoded and stored in the brain.

Why We Forget-

-Interference Memories- memories that replace or block othe memories

There are two basic types of interference:

Proactive interference is when an old memory makes it more difficult or impossible to remember a new memory. Old Negative Experiences

Retroactive interference occurs when new information interferes with your ability to remember previously learned information. New Negative Experiences

Remembering The Wrong Things- We remember the things people say and do to us. The disapointments, betrayals, false accusations, broken promises, cryticisms, mocking etc. They occupy our thoughts and colour how we see the future

Forgetting The Right Things- Philippians 3:13–14 (NASB95) 13 Brethren, I do not regard myself as having laid hold of it yet; but one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and reaching forward to what lies ahead, 14 I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.

Failures- Persecuted and complicit to murder- Traumatic experiences

Forgetting What’s Behind To Move Ahead-The past can rob our future

Pressing On- means leaving where you are

The Prize - The Upward Call - God calls us forward and upward

Prizes are things that are wonderful experiences that you recieve from your hard work, courage and perciverence

Path Out From The Waisteland

Dwell- Living In The Past

Waisteland- desert land that is barrin and unproductive

Desert- dry barrin waisteland

God Makes A Way- Holy Spirit leads us through wilderness, desert waistlands.

Stream- Waterway that brings prosperity
