Trinity one of the most attacked doctrines and difficult to discuss
Why do we find the Trinity difficult to
-DOCTRINE SIMPLY MEANS TEACHING.
OUR TRIUNE GOD
T- TAUGHT THROUGHOUT THE OLD AND NEW TESTAMENT.
Daniel 7:9–10 CSB
9 “As I kept watching, thrones were set in place, and the Ancient of Days took his seat. His clothing was white like snow, and the hair of his head like whitest wool. His throne was flaming fire; its wheels were blazing fire. 10 A river of fire was flowing, coming out from his presence. Thousands upon thousands served him; ten thousand times ten thousand stood before him. The court was convened, and the books were opened.
Daniel 7:13–14 (CSB)
13 I continued watching in the night visions,
and suddenly one like a son of man
was coming with the clouds of heaven.
He approached the Ancient of Days
and was escorted before him.
14 He was given dominion
and glory and a kingdom,
so that those of every people,
nation, and language
should serve him.
His dominion is an everlasting dominion
that will not pass away,
and his kingdom is one
that will not be destroyed.
Mark 14:61–62 CSB
61 But he kept silent and did not answer. Again the high priest questioned him, “Are you the Messiah, the Son of the Blessed One?” 62 “I am,” said Jesus, “and you will see the Son of Man seated at the right hand of Power and coming with the clouds of heaven.”
Psalm 110:1 (CSB)
1 This is the declaration of the Lord to my Lord:
“Sit at my right hand
until I make your enemies your footstool.”
Matthew 22:41–46 CSB
41 While the Pharisees were together, Jesus questioned them, 42 “What do you think about the Messiah? Whose son is he?” They replied, “David’s.” 43 He asked them, “How is it then that David, inspired by the Spirit, calls him ‘Lord’: 44 The Lord declared to my Lord, ‘Sit at my right hand until I put your enemies under your feet’? 45 “If David calls him ‘Lord,’ how, then, can he be his son?” 46 No one was able to answer him at all, and from that day no one dared to question him anymore.
PHRASE “SON OF MAN” HUIOUS TOU ANTHROPOU USED AT LEAST 77 TIMES BY OR OF JESUS IN GOSPELS AND ACTS.

Son of man is a typical Semitic expression (‘son of …’= one of the species of) denoting an individual human being (Ps 8:4; Job 16:21). Paradoxically it comes to refer, in Jewish texts, to a heavenly figure who looks like a human being and, in New Testament texts, to →Jesus both in his humanity and in his identity as the heavenly figure described in the Jewish texts.

For the orthodox Israelite, Yahweh was both sovereign and vice regent—occupying both “slots” as it were at the head of the divine council. The binitarian portrayal of Yahweh in the Hebrew Bible was motivated by this belief. The ancient Israelite knew two Yahwehs—one invisible, a spirit, the other visible, often in human form.  The two Yahwehs at times appear together in the text, at times being distinguished, at other times not.
R- REVEALED DOCTRINE. IT DOES NOT COME BY ANALOGY OR HUMAN UNDERSTANDING. WE CAN KNOW AND SEE GOD REVEALED IN THREE PERSONS YET NEVER FULLY COMPREHEND THE HOW.
GOD HAS NEVER MET HIS EQUAL. While there are many spiritual beings, there is only One CREATOR God. OMNI Present, Potent, scient
I- THREE INDIVIDUAL PERSONS EXIST UNITED IN THE GODHEAD.
Matthew 28:19 CSB
19 Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,
John 1:1 (CSB)
1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
John 1:14 CSB
14 The Word became flesh and dwelt among us. We observed his glory, the glory as the one and only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth.
U- UNIFIED Godhead or being
Deuteronomy 6:4 (CSB)
4 “Listen, Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one.
The nuance for the word "One" here goes beyond the numeric. He is to be the Lord alone, not one among other God's. He is Jealous for you and me. He desires and commands our undivided devotion. He has integrity. Other people had gods that would be different from place to place. But not Yahweh. He remained the same no matter where you worshipped Him.
N- NECESSARY FOR MEANINGFUL RELATIONSHIP.
1 John 4:7–9 CSB
7 Dear friends, let us love one another, because love is from God, and everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. 8 The one who does not love does not know God, because God is love. 9 God’s love was revealed among us in this way: God sent his one and only Son into the world so that we might live through him.
AW Tozer “If God is eternal love, that love must have an eternal object. There must, then, because of a necessity in the divine being Himself, be a multiplicity of persons in the Godhead. The eternal Object of the divine love is the eternal Son.”
1. Love began with God in eternity. When he created the world and us, He did so out of a desire to love us. Remember the picture of God and humanity in the first pages in the Bible portrays a parent child type relationship, not a boss/worker relationship or Sid from Toy Story with the dolls situation like so many other religious ideas. 2. God's primary nature is to love as shown by His rescue plan for us through His Son Jesus Christ. The cross of Jesus is the greatest demonstration of God's love for us. 3. God's saving work of grace in the heart of the sinner is the true source of love. God sent his Holy Spirit to us to transform us and make us new in love. 4. God's greatest commandment for us is to love the Lord and to love one another. God calls us to be the love in our world that He created us to be.
E- EACH ETERNALLY EXISTENT.
John 8:58 CSB
58 Jesus said to them, “Truly I tell you, before Abraham was, I am.”
They are uncreated, self-existent AND NECESSARY.
