The New King James Version (Chapter 12)
7 But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to each one for the profit of all: 8 for to one is given the word of wisdom through the Spirit, to another the word of knowledge through the same Spirit, 9 to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healings by the same Spirit, 10 to another the working of miracles, to another prophecy, to another discerning of spirits, to another different kinds of tongues, to another the interpretation of tongues. 11 But one and the same Spirit works all these things, distributing to each one individually as He wills.
Another key for our spiritual key chain is the key of Discernment.
discernment: 1. the ability to judge well. 2. (in Christian contexts) perception in the absence of judgment with a view to obtaining spiritual guidance and understanding. In this age in which we live, the ability to discern is one that is left lacking among Christians as well as among the worldly.
We have begun to question everything The Bible teaches. Just as Satan caused Eve to question what God meant, we now question what God means in His Word rather than taking it at face value.
In the Garden of Eden the ability of discernment ( ability to judge well) left at the words of the enemy.
Eve began to question in her heart the Words of God.
Today Satan is still using the same tactic on man he has cause us to question what God’s Word mean, questioning the interpretation of the Word in an effort to discount the Word of God.
Elijah came to Israel and said How long will you stand between two opinions? Judge, Discern look at the evidences and make a good choice.

9 Therefore give to Your servant an understanding heart to judge Your people, that I may discern between good and evil. For who is able to judge this great people of Yours?”

Solomon as a young King asked God for this gift, he realized that in his own efforts he was weak and could not do the will of God. It was by his asking that he was able to discern the lie told him by one who claimed to be the mother of a child.
When we come to the same understanding that our own efforts will afford us nothing and turn and ask God for ability to judge and discern, we too will prosper.
In Luke 20 the Pharisee’s and the Sadducee’s came in an effort to question how to live.
Should we pay taxes..
The Resurrection and the 7 brother’s and one wife
IN Matthew 16 Jesus is telling the religious order about there ability, because they asked for a sign.
Matthew 16:1-4 “Then the Pharisees and Sadducees came, and testing Him asked that He would show them a sign from heaven. He answered and said to them, “When it is evening you say, ‘It will be fair weather, for the sky is red’; and in the morning, ‘It will be foul weather today, for the sky is red and threatening.’ Hypocrites! You know how to discern the face of the sky, but you cannot discern the signs of the times. A wicked and adulterous generation seeks after a sign, and no sign shall be given to it except the sign of the prophet Jonah.” And He left them and departed.”
You can discern the sky, but you cannot discern the sign of the times
Matthew 16:5-12 “Now when His disciples had come to the other side, they had forgotten to take bread. Then Jesus said to them, “Take heed and beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and the Sadducees.” And they reasoned among themselves, saying, “It is because we have taken no bread.” But Jesus, being aware of it, said to them, “O you of little faith, why do you reason among yourselves because you have brought no bread? Do you not yet understand, or remember the five loaves of the five thousand and how many baskets you took up? Nor the seven loaves of the four thousand and how many large baskets you took up? How is it you do not understand that I did not speak to you concerning bread?—but to beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and Sadducees.” Then they understood that He did not tell them to beware of the leaven of bread, but of the doctrine of the Pharisees and Sadducees.”
The hypocrisy and the deception.
Acts 16:16-18 “Now it happened, as we went to prayer, that a certain slave girl possessed with a spirit of divination met us, who brought her masters much profit by fortune-telling. This girl followed Paul and us, and cried out, saying, “These men are the servants of the Most High God, who proclaim to us the way of salvation.” And this she did for many days. But Paul, greatly annoyed, turned and said to the spirit, “I command you in the name of Jesus Christ to come out of her.” And he came out that very hour.”
She was saying all the right things, but he was not of God; their are a lot of people saying the right things, but without the Spirit of God operating in us how will we know which one to follow.
When clearly we are told in the Word of God that we are in the last days 1 Timothy Paul describes these last days, yet many do not discern simply, because they have not had a heart change.
Ezekiel 44:23 ““And they shall teach My people the difference between the holy and the unholy, and cause them to discern between the unclean and the clean.”
Ezekiel 36:26-27 “I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; I will take the heart of stone out of your flesh and give you a heart of flesh. I will put My Spirit within you and cause you to walk in My statutes, and you will keep My judgments and do them.”
